It is enough forward that you are not leaning against it and it's short and high enough that you aren't sitting on it. For those short 50 mile jaunts I have it holstered. For those longer jaunts I put it in the concel next to me.

A couple pictures of my 5 inch in the Aker holster. I will try to post a couple more when I receive the Milt Sparks IWB that is on order. I am on month 5 of a 6 month wait for that one.
A three inch does conceal a bit better outside the pants, but I think the Sparks IWB will be just the ticket.

I actually perfer to carry my 1911 over my Glock. Even though it's a full size .45 it's easier to conceal.
