I Got the surprise of a lifetime this weekend. Friday was my birthday and my wife woke me up early and said get in the car we are going on a 3 day weekend vacation? We this is news to me, never even thought I would get off the farm alive at this age. She took me to a area of this country I have always loved but instead of staying in a hotel she took me up to a log cabin on a mountain side and said happy birthday its yours bought and payed for. A 3 bedroom fully furnished with satellite T.V. and running water and everything a person would want to get away and live far from the city.Even has a diesel powered back-up generator in case the electric goes out in the winter. We owned the property already and she had a log cabin built on it behind my back ( like I always dreamed I would do one day). I am posting a few pictures from the back porch deck on the second floor. Take a look at them and tell me where you think the cabin is?

Its Wear Valley in the great Smokey mountains. I have owned this land for years and years and planed to build a cabin one day when I thought I could afford it. My wife sold some of her family property last year and did it as a present for me.

I just check my camera and I will be heck! I did not take any pictures of the outside, I know I was going to but why I did not is a wonder to me? I have a few pictures I took of the inside done by a interior designer that my wife hired but I did not take many. I will be down there in a few week again so I will be sure to take more or I will check with my daughter and get the pictures of it being built and what it looks like finished when I see here in a few days.

I just found out that my wife payed to have it built, and my daughter did all the overseeing of the work and work schedule. My wife was in charge of keeping me away from the property.

What a wife!
