The pressure being put on anti-gun liberals is already doing some good.
Obama says that he now is a believer in the Second Amendment.
The bum is lying of course, but the fear of gun owner's wrath at the voting booth has the liberal swine singing a different tune.
If you can't reason the liberal idiots, make them fear you instead.
Like what has already been said on this post, we all have to keep the pressure on the politicians, Republican and Democrat or we will loose everything.
I have gotten so I don't trust anything that McCain says either, but he is the lesser of two evils [I Hope]
Watching this Presidential Election is like watching two football teams that I don't like.
I don't want to cheer for either one of them, and I'm happy when they both fumble. I then see which team has the most Notre Dame players to find the one to root for.
As far as I know, neither Candidate attended Notre Dame so...........I will vote for the one who looks most like Knute Rockne.

I just look back at the last 40 or so years. Republican or Democrat, neither has done anything for "the people" of the United States. It has become Amerika instead of the United States. I don't see either party doing anything to remove their hard won power. We need to put new people in place who still believe in the strength of individuality and the ability of people to care for themselves. Families taking care of themselves instead of the federal government taking care of everyone at a cost of half our earnings. Giving the states back the power of supporting their citizens and the citizens the right to choose the state that fits each individual's needs.
I am an anti-federalist, I suppose, but then most people are - they just don't know it.

Paul, I think everyone agrees with you in one way or another. The problem is that, in this current election, there are only two choices. There is no way that anyone other than McCain or Obama is going to win. As Eric said, we only have the choice of selecting the "lesser of two evils".

PaulS,
Most people seem to forget that this country was designed to be a Democratic Republic with "States Rights." If the Constitution doesn't specifically give the Federal Government a specific authority, it is the State's responsibility and to a lesser extent the local governments.
And, for all you history buffs (you can check this out), big government didn't begin during Roosevelt’s administration (to supposingly bring this country out of the Great Depression), but during the Civil War. This is when our Constitution was shit canned and re-written. And, yes, there were guilty parties on both sides.
No, it was not re-written, literally, but by precedence.

Yep, Lincoln was the first president to circumvent the constitution by declaring war without a majority of the congress. There wer two ammendments that were ratified without ever getting a majority vote in congress too - after Lincoln was killed the constitution was never put right like he intended.
Then FDR by passed the states rights and signed in the "presidential powers act. He by-passed the Supreme Court to do it by threatening to place more judges on the bench until he could get a majority decision. Since then the first signature that a new president uses is a statement of emergency that keeps the presidential powers act in effect. It basically calls the United States and their citizens indents who are unable to care for themselves and need the feds to take care of them. That just chaps my britches.

PaulS,
Exactly right! This is what they don't teach in school anymore. I'm always thrilled to meet people who understand the history of and reasons we are in the shape we find ourselves.
PaulS, it's my honor, you are a scholar sir.
