It aches off and on, I normally feel it as a burning sensation right between the base of the shoulder blades. I have pretty much 85% mobility back though. I have what I believe is alot of pulled / torn muscles under my shoulder blade and where the lungs attach to the spine (hurts like you cant believe to cough).

But! The good news is the mobility, I'm also able to lift 40lbs or more if I'm careful, able to bend over, sit in a chair etc etc. I read online it can take up to 8 weeks for pain from a compression fracture to go away. Last time I fractured the same area never fully went away (off and on burning sensation). Hopefully the muscles heal up quickly though I doubt it... I had a deep muscle tear 2 years ago in 1 forearm (got that one pull starting a snowmobile lol... slipped right as I yanked it and tried to stop my fall), it took 9 months to heal.

Anywho now I know what its going to be like to 80yrs old while trying to get out of bed Smile

Here's my ride when i got hurt, '02 RMK, 156" track, 160hp (est):

Glad to hear you are doing well. Takes the body a little time to get over thing as you age. Best and take care.

Yeah, man, you just need to take it easy for a while. Let your body have a few months to heal fully.

Most of the deep snow sleds dont have them due to weight. MFGs are doing everything they can to get the weight down as far as possible. Its pretty crazy the horse power to weight ratio on these things. Then the really crazy guys go throw turbos, nitrous etc on the sleds. I know the yamaha 4 stroke snowmobiles with turbo and other mods are making around 350hp... in a 450lb sled.

If you havent noticed I've gone off the deep end with respect to snowmobiling lately... I just love it, there is NOTHING like sledding in fresh deep powder. Its just unreal what the some of these sleds are capable of too, near vertical climbing ability... they can go right up those avalanche chutes we have here in the Western Mountains. I just love it... wife and boy are totally getting into it as well. My boy now 7 rides my old sled and is getting really good riding. I also love being able to get up in my fall hunting areas during the winter.

Heres some favorite vids for those with high speed internet:

Crazy powder riding:

Examples of what the best riders can pull off. The climb at the 1:45 mark is just ludicrous...

Some local guys that also make movies.

And no, snowmobiles arent just a winter thing:

I think that I will have to send Dallan a set of my snowshoes for next winter.
Better gas mileage, and less stress on the back. Very Happy

Damn... damn damn damn!

Was carpooling to work today, we got rear ended hard by some moron not paying attention. Traffic was backed up due to another accident, our driver stopped along with the traffic ahead of us but the guy behind us didnt notice until it was too late. Hit us hard, slammed us into the vehicle in front of us. Everyone else in the car was fine, minor whiplash but its re-agrivated my back again.

Soon as I get the accident information from our driver I'll call'em up and get the info to get into a doctor again. And I was feeling really good lately too!

Morax, stop it, you know Dallan can't bear to cough let alone laugh. ;-)

Dallan, those Utah hills sure look like exciting terrain. I presume you have taken avalanche terrain and rescue training, and have beacons and shovels for all....plus you read the Utah Avy forecasts before heading out.

Dallan your sled is almost the same as my oldest son's sled. His is a 2006 900 RMK. Just a few more horses to hurt oneself with. He rides his in the mountain out west. You couldn't pay me enough to ride in the mountains where they go.

Get better soon.
