Ruger Redhawk 5 1/2 inch. Got a wolf with it couple of weeks ago. Taking it along to PA for deer season in a couple weeks. My open sighted 12 inch encore in .454 Casull doesn't count?

Ruger Super Redhawk, .44 Magnum, 7.5" barrel, Hogue grip, Millett red dot. Carrying 270 gr Speer bullets in handloads. Now if I can just get a shot while carrying it...

I have used and do use several different handguns for hunting deer, bear and wild boar. Depending on what I hunt from:
Shooting house or stand I like an XP-100 rear grip in 7x08 but will use a BF or XL on occasion.
Ground blind I prefer the 30-30 XL with iron sights.
Stalking on the ground I use a OM Blackhawk 44mag, a SW 66 357 mag or an XL in 30-30 or 30 Merill.
On occasion I have hunted with a 445 DW but the gun is very heavy and is not comfortable to haul around all day. I no longer hunt with the Contender.
The autos stay in the safe when it comes to my hunting. The only autos I hunt with are shotguns and that is not a frequent occourance.

A lot of fancy handguns here. I guess I'm out gunned or maybe I'm just too cheap to go that fancy...But here's the handgun that has taken most of my handgun shot deer. I've shown this one before. Colt SAA 4 3/4" barrel .357 magnum. 140 grain Hornady XTP over 18.5 grains of W-296 and a WSPM primer.

I bought the Colt in 1966 and semi-retired it in 1990. I now use a Ruger Blackhawk .357 magnum 6 1/2" barrel. 140 grain Remington SJHP over 19.0 grains of W-296 and a WSPM primer.

Bushmaster? Is the grip frame aluminum? did you take the finish off or did it come that way?

The Blackhawk guns all have aluminum grip frames, except a few OM guns that were sent out with fitted brass frames.

Gave it a nice look!
My new Super black Haawk has a steel frame. Is this just because its a Super BH? All my BH's have aluminum except my old model 357.

Super Blackhawks and the Bisley models have steel grip frames. Unfortunately they all have aluminum ejector rod housings.
