I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY IDEAS ON WHERE AND HOW TO MOUNT A SCOPE ON MY 30/40, ANYONE DONE IT LIKE WHERE TO DRILL AND TAP IF NECESSARY.

Welcome to the Forum.

I have several 1898 Krag sporters and they have either open sights, peep sights or a scope. The scope mount I have sits of the left receiver rial positions the scope over the bore. Weaver sells a Krag base and any competent gunsmith or person with the tools and expertise can install it. All the best...
