Are any of you good folks watching this western series on TNT. I watched and taped the first show and the second installment airs tonight. These folks did a good job of showing traditional muzzleloaders. All the best...

Yup I've been watching it too. Been very interesting. I liked the trapper who got mauled by the bear and his scalp torn off... and he told the young kid to sew it back on. The kid was wincing as he'd push the needle through and the guy kept saying "Gee I'm so sorry this is hurting you so much" LOL!

What was the name of the real life guy who got mauled, left for dead... then he crawled out and killed the guys who left him? Wasnt it Hugh something?

Anyway very interesting show. I love the scenery they show in it as well.

The fellow in real life who got mauled by a grizzly bear and left for dead was Hugh Glass. He covered something like 160 miles to reach the safety of a fort. The anger he felt at his companions who left him to die kept him alive and highly motivated. He did confront the two chaps later who abandoned him, but cut them a break.

Another interesting chap was John Colter who was captured by the Blackfeet and outran them. Colter had been with the Lewis and Clark expedition. His experience was so traumatic that he left the mountains and died a few years later at the age of thirty-eight. All the best...
