Fireball,

Says the same in my Lee Modern Reloading book, difference is that the Taylor is in a long action and this would be in a short action. Smile

Well GrovyJack named the round! Its now the "416 Canuck" Very Happy

Fireball,

Nice to know that, but I'm thinking about using the Remington M700 short action. Smile

GroovyJack,

Royalty ?? This round is free for anyone to use as long as they keep the same name for it. Very Happy

BUT if you wanted payment after I get it all settled and build it if you come up here I'll let you shoot it. Smile

GroovyJack,

Its been suggested I use a 30-35* angle instead of the 50* on another forum, what do you suggest ?? Confused

Dimitri

Fireball,

GroovyJack gets all the credit for the name he came up with it. Smile

There is a local gunsmith here in Fairbanks who builds short action rifles for .338 .375 and .416 wildcats based on the 300 WSM case. Seems to me that the .416 version would be close to what you are considering.

Well Meatree , remember either here or in a PM I tole ya that whoever cuts your reamers and does the dies will werk with you and offer any ideas to help it along ..

30-35 is much gentler than 50 , may or may not be an issue , will cut down on case capacity jus' a smidgen .. And may feed better .. i dunno bout that one ..

Well then I'll wait on when I get the reamers cut (expected date January or February). And see what they say. Smile

Loaded Question ...

For my tastes , any 416 is the smallest thing I would own .. It's the smallest caliber that'll drop anything I wants to drop ..
