Buying Ammo for a gun you don't own.

You can never have too much ammo and I doubt the prices will go down.

I purchased two boxes of .45LC Cowboy for $30.00 a box.
First thing in the morning, I'm heading to the Wolf's Den gun shop and will buy some Lee .45LC Dies, Trail Boss Powder, and 500 200gr lead bullets. I will also buy a couple hundred new brass.
I will have four boxes loaded by early afternoon for Pistol League.

All of this and I will save one heck of a lot of money.
I just HATE buying factory ammo.

One question for you guys as long as I'm at it.
Am I correct in figuring that sense the loads for .45LC Cowboy will be much lower pressure than the normal pistol loads, I should get more reloads on the brass???
I'm new to this Cowboy stuff.

I got to assume the less pressure the less stress on the brass the more reloads, unless ofcourse your shooting out of some Semi-autos which are known to eat brass (especially semi-automatic military service rifles). Smile

Yes you most likely will get more reloads per case with SAA level pressures. The standard for a .45 Colt load is between 14 and 20k if I remember right.. Most factory lods though I believer are in the 16k range. The higher end will run upwards of those figures and are of course for stronger revolvers and some rifles. Wish I knew you were looking for
.45 stuff I gavce away all of mine after the kB. One word of caution make sure you know what the sizing die sizes for. I have a LEE set and I am almost positive they are .454's but some like my Hornady are .452. You should not need much "belling" on the case mouth for the 200gr lead as they are, again if I remember right, mostly .452's unless otherwise stated.
HAve fun and I am a believer you can never have enough components and ammunition. But there are "comfortable" levels of possesion.

I miss the days - about 6 to 7 years ago when the Third World was converting over to 223 and dumping their 308 stocks on the market. I was buying 1K round cases of milsurp 308 for $125 shipped! I split a pallet with a buddy, so I am set for a couple more years.
