I have recently bought my first inline ml and am finding some things to question. First is what is your favorite load? Has anybody converted from 209 to .25ACP and why? I have a Wolf Magnum 209 from CVA and would like any info perinent to it concerning loads, bullets, primers, conversions, or what have you. I am reading about problems with the 209 primer due to fouling and excessive power, or has this been overcome. I am using Winchester 209 for ML.Thanks for any info forth coming!! Smile

Use Remington ML primers over normal 209, they are lower powered based on the .410 primers. My favorite ML loads are

100grns Pyro RS under a 240grn Hornady XTP for deer.
120grns Pyro RS under a 300grn Hornady XTP for elk.

sub 2" generally (we have open or 1x sight restrictions here so its hard to get finer groups regularly.

With these old eyes I would be real happy with 2 inch groups and iron sights!! Getting to where the rear is almost there and the front is blurred, so I have to use a scope.

vint....

Sometimes new and fancy don't work as well as old and mundane....

My Rifle: Ruger 77/50, walnut stock that I built, action/barrel full bedded, honed factory trigger, lapped rings, Leupold 3 X 9....

Load: 110 grains true weight FFg Goex or Elephant, #11 CCI caps, T/C "regular" sabots (non high pressure) and 240 grain XTP's, consistant seating pressure per mark on the ramrod....

Groups: routinely under an inch at 100 yards when bore is dry brushed between shots. 1.5 inches on average if no dry brushing....

Kills: Have made a dozen or so clean kills out to 200 yards in that many attempts at that range. 150 and under is a cake walk......................

Yupper, I have been real happy with my 100g fff,275 gr maxi hunter, and muzzle caps, but need the scope now so had to get a different rig. Smile
