You should have a load with more punch than the 140-150gr. I would suggest 180gr for that .357 Max. There are several real good bullets in that weight to choose from. I like The Rem. SJHP's. You might even look at a lead SWC with a gas check.

Those wild boars have a really bad attitude so put them down hard.

Good hunting
Darrell

nickelkton,
I could never get the light bullets to shoot with any accuracy at decent velocities. 158 grain did ok but when I loaded Speer 180 rifle bullets with H110 I found the MAGIC load. It was accurate in everything we could shoot it from. The loaded round won't fit in revolvers and won't cycle through the action of the lever action rifles but it shoots well from single shots. It is not uncommon to shoot cloverleaf groups at 100 yards. That Speer bullet would be the ideal bullet for boars with almost 50% more penetration than the 158 JSP from Sierra. There might be better bullets but so far I haven't found any as accurate with the same speed that I get with the Speer 180 FN rifle bullet. I have been working with the Hornady 180 grain Spire point rifle bullet but I haven't found the same results with it yet. I am still working with it because it has a better ballistic coefficient.
