I just started loading for my 300 wby mag. I'm using 74 grs. of IMR 4831, hornady 180 gr. SST's, and federal 215 primers. I was able to shoot nickel groups at 100 yds. Four shots basically in the same hole. Anyone else have any other "recipes" to try for this caliber? I was thinking of trying the new powder by hogdon hybrid 100v. Anyone used this yet for the 300 wby mag? Thanks.

Tinkering is why I have four different "pet loads" for my 3006. Onr for each bullet weight I have used.

NICE Grumulkin - This is the same size group I am getting with the load I mentioned:
Hornady 180gr RN bullets with 77.1gr RL-22 is a load giving me great results

I ran 12 rounds through my chrono taday, after trying out some sabot rounds from a 30-06

The WBY loads gave me:
AVE: 2777 fps
Std Dev: 24 fps

This is a comfortable load to shoot, and has proven VERY effective on whitetail
