i heard on the radio today about a breakin. the deputy arrived and was shot. neighbors held the shooter at bay with there firearms and helped law enforcement catch the shooter in a shootout.

this is a very ryral area. 90 percent of the pickups you see have a gun in them. hunting is a lifestyle not a sport and neighbors watch out for neighbors.

I'm supprised the media put a positive spin on the local civilian helping with the matter.

Is there a big meth problem in that area? I was living in Cherokee County Kansas, which is in the far southeast corner bordered by Misouri and Oklahoma, before moving to Wisconsin. Most of the criminal activity in that area was directly related to meth. A lot of burglaries and such.
