I went to a gun show and three gun shops today. There were four guns I was kinda interested in and I did find all of them. Way over priced.

At one shop, that actually had all four, I looked at one,saw the price and handed it back. Looked at a second, saw the price and handed it back. Asked about the third and the clerk walked away! Guess I won't visit there again.

Primers and powder were still too high also. At least we had a good lunch! But, come to think of it, it was too expensive too!

Rant

Haha Haha

The price on pretty much everything is disgustingly high these days. Looking through FB Marketplace for a couple of particular items, I’m finding the prices are through the roof. People are becoming greedy…very greedy with the price on old used goods. It seems the word “antique” makes the asking price double what it should be…even more if it’s “rare” and “antique”. Apparently “rare” means there would only be maybe 10,000 available, and “antique” means it’s at least 10 years old. Very Happy Mad Heaven forbid if it has dings and scratches…it has “old school character”, and you guessed it, that character (really only damage from not being looked after) means increased value to the seller.

Vince, they can call it a "rare antique with old school character" but I'll happily point out that it's just junk, if it is.

You got me thinking about the high-dollar "hybrid" dogs that people are trying to sell for ridiculous prices. They are mutts, and we used to give them away.

So much for "marketing".

Yep, agree totally mate. I’m careful about who I say “it’s rubbish, junk” to though as some guys get real snarky if you call them out. I remember years ago when looking at a car with a view to purchasing, I identified and made mention of some damage and suggested to car had either rolled or at least been on its side (wrinkles in the roofline with attempted repair amongst other things) and that the body was twisted. The owner got real p1$$3d (I’d caught him out) and screamed “get the F off my property, the car isn’t for sale to you now” with threats of bashing etc. I made sure all my mates were aware of what I found in case they were to look at purchasing the car.

The high dollar designer hybrid dogs are a joke. It’s something breeders do to try and produce a trendy dog companion for the WOKES. Most of these dogs are rife with physical problems that cannot be fixed.

Vince, your car story reminded me of a house we looked at right after we got married. When I pointed out to the realtor that you could see the sky through the holes in the ceiling she said, "Well, it's a 'fixer-upper'." I said "No, it's a burner-downer!"
