Took the kids hunting for Turkey this weekend for the second time (last year was the first).

Daughter wasn't a fan of the fashion, made them wear hunter orange vests, hats, safety glasses and ear protection. But she did manage to call in a Turkey Vulture. Scratch

I also sighted in the new 22WMR. Windy day and off hand in 5 shots after laser boresighting it for windage. Not a bad little target only adjusted elevation to get it on point. Stayed in the red at 50m for the next 5 rounds.

Kids learned to shoot. Had a 10/22 Youth for my son, and a Rascal for my daughter. They both found the Rascal easier to hold and shoot so stuck with that most of the time.

Not a bad trip even without a turkey.

Great job mate…educating the next generation goes a long way towards retention of our sport.

those rascals have made a difference to teaching young folks...funny how the wheel turns isnt it??? go back 40-50-60-70 years and the single shot .22lr was a common thing for manufacturers to produce, there are an absolute shite ton of them for sale well used and abused, and shops asking stupid money for them still. other than the Rossi break open, often with another shotgun barrel, the single shot .22lr market hasnt been huge for last generation or two...and now its making a comeback.
I learnt to shoot rifle with a singleshot Remington .22,sold it 25 years ago as never used it anymore having bought a Norinco repeater.
great to see you passing on the skills to next generation.
