That is insane. We had something similar many years ago in Hobart, Tasmania…a ship hit a pilon and bought down only the centre span of the bridge thankfully.

My heart goes out to the families of those workers on the bridge who were repairing the road. Last I heard (7pm 27 March Brisbane Time) there were two saved, but with six still missing.

I saw Sleepy Joe on TV saying the Federal Government will rebuild the bridge and pick up all costs. Have you guys got an election coming soon?

sleepy Joe also remembers riding train across said bridge!!!!
even though it doesnt and has never had tracks on it.
