I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube lately, and something that is cropping up regularly is videos on the Secret of Skinwalker Ranch in NorthWest Utah.

The Skinwalker Ranch is allegedly a hotbed of paranormal and Extra Terrestrial activity. They have a team of “experts” there, supposedly from a number of specialist fields, investigating the phenomena that are supposedly happening.

The Episodes being aired certainly appear to be believable, but at the same time there are many things that happen seem pretty far fetched. If this is a made up fictional series, then they have spent a sh1t tin of money on producing it, more than I would imagine they could recover through sales or YouTube royalties, let alone make a decent profit.

The storyline seems to hop around a bit, and it does drag you in, but it’s enjoyable…to the point where you look forward to the next Episode.

Anyways…my question for Dallan…seeing as how this is your neck of the woods mate, what is the general feeling in Salt Lake City and Utah as to the validity, truthfulness, of this Series? Is it thought to be genuine, or just a fictional story? Wikipedia indicates fiction as shown below.

The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch

My wife watches a lot of "ghost" hunter stuff on TV. I put as much stock in them as I do skinwalker ranch. None...Noda. Pure entertainment. Grab another fifth of Scotch, Vince, and find a good western movie on the tube.

Robert Bigelow is a big UFO nut and used to own that property. He even got the US government to spend millions on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. Which eventually led to that UFO report last year.

The truth is out there.

I must admit mate that I too watch some of those ghost hunting YouTube videos…if only for a laugh. It fills in the time between when I’m looking for hunting, shooting, handloading and firearms videos. I only wish I had the money to buy some NVG or a Night Vision Scope. As an aside, if you have some NVG, have a look at the night sky and prepare to be astounded by the things you can see, or can’t see with the naked eye.

Now, if you want real entertainment, watch an episode of "Mountain Monsters"...

Extremely good deer hunting spot not far from there. Its where I killed a very nice buck in 2005 and my wife got a really good one in 2018 out there. Tags are hard to come by though.

Meh... not everything that goes "bump" in the night... in the woods, is from a 'Squatch or an alien.

For the most part it walks a line between old stories and lore, but with a dash of truth here and there to keep people wondering.

Its like the Oak Island treasure hunters. They base drama off of bits of things they find. I honestly am on the fence still about that one... its the craziest "reality" type show out there, only because they actually do find some real oddities. Clearly axe hewn timber found hundreds of feet deep under the surface. I lean towards a ship wreck there at some point... but whos to say. They've found old quarried rock roads buried under the soil. Dock areas that got covered over, lots of tunnel entrances.

Beats me, thats the only one I occasionally watch. I did watch some Skinwalker ranch stuff years ago but not in quite some time.

PS: if you really want to go down the rabbit hole, go google the iron London Hammer found in texas, embedded in rock thats extremely old. Parts of the handle are fossilized so on the surface it looks like its from a period that predates the bronze age.

Another crazy thing are the boring "cores" left over from Egyptians who drilled holes in Granite. If you take one of these, you can clearly see cutting marks spiraling down the core as the tool cut through it. Now here's the thing, if you trace one of the cut marks entirely around the core, and measure the distance between, you can calculate the "feed rate" of the boring tool. What is insane is it is orders of magnitude faster than any modern tool known to man. Yet some one had something better drilling all of those holes many millennia ago.

Finally the rock walls of Peru. Lore of the area says the ancients could "soften" the rocks somehow and that allowed them to conform to neighboring rocks as they were placed, resulting in those incredibly tight tolerances, and really non-uniform edges.

Beats me how all of that stuff was created, but its pretty fascinating to see research being done on.

I agree with the Oak Island videos…some very interesting things being found deep down. Is there a massive treasure awaiting exposure? Who knows, but I’m thinking they are uncovering the real treasure…historic activity…on a regular basis.

The London Hammer is a bit of an enigma…but very interesting, and certainly beyond my comprehension.

There are many strange and thought provoking things from times past in Egypt. But it’s not just Egypt where these engineering oddities can be found. There are instances of perfect holes having been bored through incredibly hard rock, rock that we would find extremely difficult, if not impossible, to bore. Then there are profiles of walls and entrances to openings having extremely exacting dimensions with perfectly “cut” right angles, cut to within thousandths of an inch and perfectly smooth. instances of temples carved out of solid rock in the sides of cliffs, again with perfect dimensions.

There is also the unfinished obelisk in a quarry in Egypt. There are “scoop” marks on it that are regular in size and position, almost like they were cut out by a machine or laser of some sort.

The walls in South America are further anomalies. I remember watching a video where they put forward the idea of softening the rocks with an acid of some sort to allow them to settle into position/shape.

There are many oddities around the world that point to an advanced culture with engineering capabilities beyond comprehension, cultures and capabilities I very much doubt we will ever decipher, certainly in these times.

Oh well, they are interesting to watch, and really get the mind working, trying to understand how they achieved these things. I keep an open mind on things I can’t explain or debunk. A bit like the modern oddity of Trump vs Biden. Very Happy

I had to change my VPN to the US to be able to view the video as it’s not available Down Under.

Those guys aren’t very good actors Punkin. I laughed real hard Haha Haha when the guy said “I gotta go in there (the hole) and have a look”…then he yelled and came outa that hole like a rocket…very funny and predictable.

Limestone is a sandy concoction and water over time will displace it and dry allowing it to reabsorb into itself. Which allows it to coat things naturally.

Had the hammer been buried as long as they say the wood would have fossilized.

Petrifying wells do the same thing. Like this one.

Parts of the handle are actually fossilized, but as skeptics point out, there are natural phenomena that can do this in shorter time spans.

Like I said, its just fun curiosity to study some of these things.

Yes it is fun to read about.

I'm still waiting for proof of intelligent life out there. That would be interesting.

I saw this tonight on YouTube…very interesting.

Softening Rock - Lost Art

Even more interesting is a scientific suggestion as to how softening of rocks was achieved.

It’s in the Mathematics and the Science. The answer to How is this Done is in the Mathematics.
