Well I always wanted a 550 , but could never justify it and my single stages have served me well for fifty years .. Six years ago before my brother passed away , he told his wife , the 550 and all things Dillon were mine . Well still waiting for the call to come get the stufff..
So a few days ago , we were going through the flea market and there it was/is . A NIB 550 B model with a bunch of extras for $100 , call the vendor and offer $75 cash and he took it , saved over $475 ...

May I give you 1 advice? Don't try to set small primers with the large primer device mounted onto the press, don't forget to exchange that! Is not so difficult and you will avoid looking for the answer on why some of these primers are crushed...
And second advice: don't forget to put the powder in. Rounds without primer will give bullets stop in the barrel. Not fun to remove and also very sad feelings when you have to dismantle all your reloads...
That said: welcome to the Dillon blue side of reloading. And yes it's true what they say: once you master the handling trick you will love this press even without trying to set new fast reloading records!
Have fun!

How would you know these things ??? Yes I played with my brothers Dillon quite a lot , I will probably use it as a single stage for a while until I get the feel of things ..

I'm rather sure that you're not going to use it very long as a single stage... maybe 5 or 10 rounds... sure when you think it over a few moments where to put the box with empty cases and the bullets... one hand putting the bullet and rotating 1 step further while the other hand puts next case and afterwards lower the handle... when things go right, they will go very fast...
and yes, you can trust Dillon's powder-measuring-system, you better check the crimp when you're not using an extra (Lee?) crimping die...
it's not so that when you love blue, you have to hate red...

Will have to get some caliber conversion kits and pull out the handy dandy chart for the different size shell holders and locator buttons and powder funnels and go from there , several of mine will use same components

You are going to love having a progressive press Groovy me old mate. I had a LEE 1000 for loading pistol and it made life so much easier and the job far quicker and less tedious. From what I’ve heard, the Dillon product is about the best on the market. These days I’m back to the tedium and time consuming job of loading rifle on a single stage “O” Frame press.

Good score!
Dillon makes great presses.

I purposely bought Dillon Square Deals for my pistol reloadings, they are affordable enough to have one in each caliber and that would ensure that I wont make mistakes in loads and settings.
