Loke's store "Gunnies" is by far my favorite place to shop, and its a bad sign when they run low / out of supplies.
The last thing I got as the run was really ramping up was a box of Berrys Bullets in 40cal, 180gr. I got them from Scheels who had a single 1000ct box for sale at a store back east, but they shipped it to my house fairly cheap. i'd run out of .40 loading up all the brass I had laying around.
Scheels is a odd chain store, its a bit more "yuppie" than I'd like (ie guys in bicycle shorts walking around), but they had a great selection of gun supplies. Most reloaders didnt even think of Scheels for supplies until it was too late. I got 4lbs of HP-38, the berrys above, couple cans of 7828, 209 primers for the muzzleloaders and amazingly, they had quite the selection of buckshot up until mid-august. I found 000, 00, 4Buck in both 3" and 2.75" shells.
IDK how, but my dad who is 82 retired and bored, wanders around from gun store to gun store each week and found 2 more boxes of 20GA #8s so it looks like we'll get to do another skeet shooting session here when the weather gets a little better.

It’s not unusual for the little known less frequented gun stores or sports stores to have stocks of bits and pieces on the storeroom shelves.
I don’t know how much spare time you have on your hands Dallan, but maybe you could consider casting for your 40 cal and also casting buckshot. My shooting buddy purchased moulds for several different sized buckshot, from BB up to 00, and that keeps well stocked.
Berrys bullets are cast, copper washed or plated, from what I’ve heard, so casting your own is a good option. If a copper coating is desired, there are methods of putting a light copper coating onto the bullets, or even better powder coating is another option.

On a happier note...In May of this year Dallan will be able to carry a concealed weapon without having to ask permission. Utah is going permitless carry. The 18th state to do so.
Congrats MR. Dallan...

Already have CCP, but yea, IMO its a good thing.
I'm interested how the DWR is going to interpret the ruling with regard to archery and Muzzleloader hunting seasons. They are very much against a bow hunter with a firearm... but they couldnt stop people with ccp's from carrying while hunting. I dont think too many people actually did that... but I think enough will this fall the dWR changes some of their language.

In Missouri having a CCW permit has a few more privilages then those that have not. We, also, have open carry of which I have a mixed opinion of. I think those that open carry are just showing off.

IMO open carry is an invitation to a problem.
There was an incident 3 or 4 years ago one of the Northern States allowed open carry and a young guy got severely beat for his gun but a passerby saved him. When he was on the news he stated that it's foolish to open carry!

Dallan...in reality, carrying when bow hunting shouldn’t be a problem...there is plenty of evidence shown between an arrow shot and a gun shot critter. But then again, there will always be those idiots who don’t care.
Bushy, I’m of two minds about open carry...it’s really a double edged sword. There will always be that “tough guy” who will have something smartarse to say when he sees someone displaying a big and/or fancy sidearm. This can easily lead to confrontation. It could, but extremely rarely one would hope, lead to the old “quick draw gunfight” on the street between two “tough guys”.
Then there’s the scenario RePete mentioned. Open carry can lead to beatings and subsequent firearm theft by criminals and/or gangs. It could even become an initiation test...steal a gun from someone open carrying to prove your mettle.
Another thing to consider is the action of Police due to unlimitless carry...every citizen must be considered armed which could well result in Police shootings by nervous or trigger happy cops. I can see this happening because every citizen, good and bad, will have the right to be armed.
Sooo...yeah, I’m of two minds about “no permission required” carry...I think it presents more problems than it solves. Better to have CCW after being approved by the State Govt saying you are a good and responsible citizen.

There is a problem with your thinking. I live in a country that has a Second Amendment that says "shall not be infringed". The Second Amendment IS my carry permit. I should not have to have permission to carry a firearm. Permitless carry does have it's advantages and disadvantages. BUT I (in this country) have the right to carry a firearm. I just don't want the bad guy to know that I'm carrying.
Remember Larry's home and what I was carrying when I met you at my door.

ByTheWay. The bad guys have always carried [illegally]. Permitless carry just levels the playing field.

I was able to pickup a few boxes of 20ga #8s today from my favorite gun store. We are looking good at this point going forward, enough total now for a few skeet shoots and this fall's dove season.

The good thing with unrestricted open carry is it removes the "brandishing" charges brought when a gust of wind momentarily uncovers your pistol, or some fragile thing notes you're "printing".
Plus there's no reason to CC when "off the beaten track" where furry predators are the main threat & fastest possible access an asset.
I'd not OC where the threat is two legged, as all you're doing is advertising you are carrying something of value & that you need "neutralising" in order for it to be taken.
I like giving, rather than receiving surprises...
