this Corona Virus fab has hit Australia hard.
A lot of supermarkets and retailers are running out of TOILET PAPER !!
In one incident nearby to my workshop, someone pulled out a KNIFE to threaten other shoppers in the panic buying of TOILET PAPER !!

Goddam what the hell?
Would the virus scare the shit out of them too much?

Thanks for the chuckle, gelandangan. Hand sanitizer can't be found here. I found some N95 masks on-line 2 weeks ago at list price but some wanted $200 to $300 in shipping!

Ive just discovered this is a thing.
Im down to my last 1/2 roll of toilet paper, just went to 2 shopping centers (3 stores) and not a roll to be found.
Roll on the pandemic, it will hopefully cull some of the stupid out of the population, 1 person in 500,000 have contacted it in Australia, mostly overseas, 2 have died, one of those was 95 yo.
I blame OH&S, before the onset of safety at all costs the stupid were a self regulating population, now they are everywhere and increasing.

Ive got 5-6 face cloths/flannels in the cupboard...they were good enough to whipe the kids bums when they were in diapers so Im sure I could use them if needed..... its hilarious really. they still making newspapers and they work fine...the rumours you could catch adds was just a hoax.

I checked my SHTF storage yesterday: 48 rolls but I need to get in some dried milk, tinned tomatoes, top up the rice & pasta.
Everything else I'm pretty much where I like to see it.

I reckon due to people's stupidity this virus will turn into a major global killer - they can't even wash their hands after going to the bathroom, then those of us who do, get to use the same damn' door handle...

Oh for pet-sake!! It's just another strain of the flu. some die and most don't. Trying to wrap my head in toilet paper doesn't seem like the thing to do. Doubt if it will help.

It's a lot worse than flu matey. As a new strain of virus, homo sapiens has no defences & the death rate is currently around 30 times that of your average flu epidemic, plus it appears to be more easily transmissible from person to person.
I reckon I'll be pulling up the proverbial drawbridge inside a month...

Mind you; the planet could do with a few billion less humans doing their utmost to wreck the place.
It'll drastically reduce CO2 emissions too...

The urge and need to make money is what will eventually cause most problems in the spread of corona virus. For instance, Australian Universities make massive profits from international students, and they are up in arms about losses in the millions because of travel bans. As a result, Chinese students are leaving China and going to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and now it appears Iran and some European countries, where they do a 14 day self imposed quarantine, before jumping a flight to Australia.
I picked up our daughter who returned from Pomgolia on 24 Feb and the Brisbane International terminal was wall to wall Asians, all masked up, who came in on flights from the above countries. The vast majority were females of University age.

They claim that the infection rate and lethality of corona virus is less than that of SARS, and that didn’t wipe out humanity, so there is no need to worry...yeah right!!! The Jury is still out in the start point and source of Corona, or COVID-19 as they are calling it now. Did it jump from animal to human due to poor (non-existent) hygiene or food source habits, or is it an “escapee” from a laboratory working on bio-weapons? Food for thought there.

My wife brings the flu home every year and I never get it. I don't even get the flu shot.

Mike...I'm 77 and in excellent health. Vince can vouch for that. At this age I'm not going to get all that excited about it. Hummmm...Draw bridge...Aah. Yes. That might work at that.

Absolutely an animal vector matey.
My uncle's a retired bioweapon (Porton Down) scientist & he's certain nobody is nuts enough to fiddle with something that can self mutate like a coronavirus.
He said it could turn into something 100% lethal if someone started messing with its DNA, plus it's so easily transmissible & can remain viable for several hours outside of a host that it would damage the nation releasing it as much as the target.
