Well, i'm getting my first (of several) root canals at 10am I just wish he'd pull 'em all out

Don't be such a chicken....... I've had several root canals and they're no big deal. Don't be such a wuss......... they don't hurt!!!!

Gidday Ringo. If you are anything like me you will most likely go to sleep in the dentist's chair....I even started snoring once.

Mate, DON"T let the fang farrier pull them out!!!! If the R/C are done well they will last forever and no more toothaches. You will be happy because the only thing that could possibly happen to your chewin' gear later is the very slim possibility of an abcess, and they are easy to treat.

If you have to go with a crown or two later go for gold crowns if finances will allow it. They are very strong and are heaps better than a porcelain crown. I have both and also have a chrome partial upper plate so I sorta feel qualified to suggest.

I hate dentists.

I myself avoid them at all costs. See when I was younger (not that I still dont) used to drink alot of milk. And anyways my baby teeth didnt want to come out the roots were embedded into my bone (like adult teeth are supposed to be), so I had to have them pulled out. Well anyways, each time I had them pulled out because of moving around I had a different dentist, anyways when I asked for more pain-killers/nummers they never gave me them,

Now getting a tooth pulled thats in bone let me tell you 2 'little wee' numming niddles dont do anything when the dentist breaks that tooth/bone seal.

Moral of my story ?? No matter how much it hurts to get a Root Canal 10Ring, unless your teeth are about to fall off anyways DONT get teeth removed!

Well, the dentist decided to "save" the tooth, because he found that i could get away witha crown BUT....when he said there would be quite a bit more discomfort, he was right! After a good 20 to 30 minutes of drilling and shaping then all the other stuff and $775 later, i have to go back in 2 weeks and get a porcelain crown put in.....but Lord i'm in pain from all that

I think at my age, dentures would have been a better route

10ring it sounds like you may have a bit of an infection in there. I have had 6 r/c and only had pain once. It was infected. I gargalled with salt water and was given anti biotics. It took a few days but did go away. Hope you feel better soon.

Hey Irskii, it's not an infection (thank God) the pain i'm in now is from the excessive drilling and shaping and the length of time it took In few days and i know i'll be as good as new He did say though there is more pain associated with a crown than there is with a r/c, which from my wife and daughter having one, so i do believe that.

I still say you should avoid dentists
