Today, after 30 years and 3 months working in Photographic retail business I have just opened my shop for business for the last morning, and in 7 short hours I will close the doors for the last time.
Sort of a bitter sweet feeling, Sue and I have spent almost all our adult life in the store, both my daughters literally born and grown up there.
Lots of friends (and a few "enemies" Bonk Whip Rolling Eyes ) made during the time.
Now I look forward to "days of leisure" and "retirement" and will spend more time making and doing things that I love (knives, hunting and all other stuff)

At least one thing is constant right now, you Nuts are still with me.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year Friends,
I am glad you let me into a little of your lives.

Cheers Christmas Cheers

It's a hard decision and move to make mate, and the adjustment will be a challenge. However, if anybody can do it, it is both you and Sue. Your 'hobbies' will keep you busy and will also bring in a little 'drinking silver' mate...you and your family will survive.

I should have seen about buying a digital 35mm camera (although which brand to go for confuses me) before you closed everything down mate.

Congrats my son and enjoy retirement to the fullest. You will be busier now than before.

I retired almost 10 years ago and have less time now than before. Mind you, I remarried and got 2 grandchildren to boot.

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year in your new beginning and to all.

Congrats, gelandangan! I will have to follow your path soon enough. Keep us posted on the transition.

Retired? You never retire, believe me. I've been retired for 15 years and I work harder now then I did when I was employed.

Enjoy your retirement. I'm having a ball with mine.

Gel Mate, you look after yourself and your good lady first and foremost.
go and do that road trip you have always talked about doing and enjoy life to the fullest measure, you have worked long and hard for long enough, now take the time to enjoy doing "your thing" without having to cut it short to rush back to the shop.....
if you feel the urge to jump the ditch for a look around.......look me up and we will do what we can for you, this wee town goes off at this time of the year, right on main tourist route means the shops and sidewalk stalls do really well.

Smile the first thing we do is jump into a plane and go to Indonesia for a holiday.
I haven't visited the country for 17 years, everything changed so far, but not the heat, humidity and SMELL.

Merry Christmas
