Very nice deer stand construction project and about the best that I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing. All the best...

Opener is next weekend so I have to put the finishing touches on the shack. I still need to put the heater in, run the propane hose up from the ground, put the carpet down and get the second chair up there for SWMBO. It's hard to say what the weather is going to be but i hope a 30 pound propane tank will be enough. Shit I forgot to put the cup holders in! I better get that taken care of asap, I hate it when I spill my coffee.

I have really enjoyed building this and now to be able to spend the entire season in it is going to be great.

You sound like my grandson when we put together a "fort" for him and his brother! Smile
You did a great job and you bother deserve to hunt in comfort.

That's NOT a shack....it's a small, elevated "B-n-B"!

The deer are not cooperating today! But at least I was comfy, it was 30 some degrees this morning and 72 this afternoon. Really hard to dress for these temperature swings. My new stand has been dubbed "The Penthouse" by the haters in small shaky stands.

SWMBO came out after work for the afternoon hunt (armed bird watching). We had two hoping around in the thick brush but could not see them. She was very comfortable in the penthouse and has given it her seal of approval.

Mate, you are streets ahead of everyone else with your "getaway/hideaway"...even better that you have the seal of approval from SWMBO. Who knows mate, you might be able to rent it out to bird watchers for some easy drinking silver.

...and a small gas operated beer fridge (or why not solar power) and a small gas stove. Come to think of it, I reckon I could pretty much live in there.

I have one feeling left and you could drive a tank across it and not hurt my last feeling. Heh heh heh.

First off I did contemplate putting a drop down bed in there, but settled for two office chairs because of the area is too hard to watch laying down. My feet sure do love to be kicked up.

Second you have to remember this is Minnesota keeping beer cold this time of year is not real hard.

and third I can cook on my heater.

I place to lay down would be nice. I've slept in the blind so I'm ready to go 1st light without disturbing anything walking in during darkness. Maybe too cold to do that up there.
