I thought this was a great example of how bullet choice affects terminal performance. Same gun and cartridge with two different bullet designs.

Yep, there are big differences in bullet terminal performance and how the react over their energy envelop. Thanks for sharing.

crazy how elastic that gel is. The destruction on living tissue would be catastrophic.

At about the 4:20 mark note the detonations inside the block, I think from the collapsing cavities.

As elastic as ballistic gelatin is a living body is even more elastic. That is why the results from fast light bullets are so "flexible". It has been shown many times that you have to cut a hole in tissue in the vital areas for a "kill" shot. As long as the bullet can reach the vitals, tear or put holes in those tissues then you have a good bullet. Hydrodynamic effects of hypersonic bullets rarely tear arteries or organ tissue. (hydro-static shock is a misnomer)
The bullet does the permanent damage that kills.
