People who support PETA because of the "publicised good" work they do should have the common sense to investigate the practices they use to govern the animals in their care. Although I don't find an 80% kill rate exceptionally high by industry standards it is considerably higher than the organizations publicised "norms". Their promotions are at the very least misleading and in the worst case actually fraudulent.

I happen to be a member of the 'sister' organization by the same name:
People Eating Tasty Animals (PETA) but they don't deal with "pets".
