OK, I my have figured this out again, so here's some pics of home
Standing on the front porch looking east.
Looking south. The pictures do not do justice to the size of the white oaks, they are huge.
Looking southwest. The brown building is, or will be a chicken coop on one end, rabbit hutches at the back and inside is for gunsmithing and reloading. And the new red barn,
Looking west 100 yards down to my daughter and grand-kid's new place.
Now the hunting grounds, neighbor to the east has 18 acres we are allowing the hunt and neighbor to the west has 38 acres we are allowed the same on, the fellow across the road has 69 acres and asked me to hunt it and kill all the coyotes I can, He lost a couple calves to them last spring. Plus our 25 acres gives me a lot of room to roam.
Out the backdoor east goes downhill to a nice stream.
Looking north to the 22 some odd acres. We have planted clover, chicory, crab apples, mulberries, and many other fruit and nut trees for the critters.
And as far west as I can see from the backdoor, soon to be a large deck.

lesterg3, thanks for posting. You have a great abode! I can just envision the reports you send out while hunting from your rocking chair on the back porch. Elvis, you have a chanllneger.

OK, stream might be a bit overstated there is running water at the bottom. As often is the case here in Dixie with the ground being mostly red clay some days it is a roaring torrent 20 feet wide and in the late summer and fall it is a barely discernible trickle. But, Suz can show up in her bathing suit or without as she wishes. But that water will feed the pond we are digging. Hopping for about 2 acres.
Have not seen any ducks, I wish, Love a roasted duck dinner. Maybe when the pond is in. Did flush a Grouse which is a bit rare here in the Piedmont.
Pigs were in the front last night, eating acorns, never heard them but the tracks and the scat is unmistakable. I am going the have to get a couple trail cameras when I can afford it.
Been planting more fruit and nut trees for humans this time and hope to get chickens and Guinea fowl this spring. Guinea us almost as good a duck, and I am sick and tired of the crap that passes for eggs and chicken at the grocery stores.
Sorry Bush no trout within 100 miles of me but there is some great trout fishing up in the Blueridge.

if you get some khaki campbell ducks of something similar the mallards will turn up. duck eggs are super rich too and make the best sponges.
if you have oaks the acorns will feed them and you may just be able to establish a population that sticks around.
pork is always good they too are probably after the acorns.wait for a moonlit night and get out your best scoped rifle and have a look around...you never know you may be able to spot a porker from the back door!!!!
