I think some of the injured/wounded were from chemicals and explosives.

My best friend is pro gun, but on his FB page some of his anti gun friends are trashing guns and the NRA.
I'm arguing with them, and making the same points that we do on this forum, and getting exactly nowhere.
It is totally impossible to argue common sense with the liberal mind.
If liberals had any common sense at all, they wouldn't be liberals in the first place. Mad Mad

We just had a gang shooting in Toronto before this incident in Aurora. Our minister of justice was asked if handguns should be banned. His reply was that current controls are strict but they only affect honest, law abiding owners. No law will keep the criminal from having a gun.

The question that I would like answered is what caused the shooter to plan and carry out a slaughter of random people. I believe that the constant barrage of violence in movies, games etc. has made such acts easier for the individual to comprehend as acceptable. This perhaps explains the method but not the motivation. Blaming the tools he used won't help prevent it from happening again. He could just as easly started a fire or planted a bomb.

They're not even "liberals"; they usurped that description to cover their REAL ideals - socialism & the control of the population that entails.
The sub-sect who call themselves "progressives" are nothing more than communists under a false flag.
Both of the above do all they can to portray pro self defence people as being indifferent to these tragic events, rather than the truth that we are more angered & dismayed by them than they ever are.

A plague on both their hypocritical houses. Mad

I've BEEN there as far as tragic events go, when two years ago an old friend of mine murdered twelve & injured 11 more people here using a rifle & shotgun. Some were people I knew well.
It didn't turn me against guns because it was HIM, not the guns that did the killing.

It appears that Aurora DOES in fact have ordinances against CCW, loaded firearms in vehicles & others.
These have been declared unenforceable by the State but how many law-abiding citizens would wish to test that?

Quote::
Aurora

1. "Dangerous weapon" includes firearm

2. Revocation of license for furnishing a firearm to a minor or someone under the influence.

3. Window displays cannot include firearms with barrels less than 12 inches long.

4. Unlawful to carry concealed "dangerous weapon"

5. Unlawful to discharge firearms, unless by law enforcement on duty or on shooting range.

6. Unlawful to possess firearm while under the influence of intoxicant

7. Unlawful to have loaded firearm in motor vehicle.

8. Unlawful for a juvenile to possess a firearm.

English Mike, I haven't looked at Aurora's laws but I know that some sections of law here say that concealed carry is illegal while others say it is legal with a permit. The confusion comes from allowing politicians and lawyers to write laws...

I sometime wonder if the laws are intentionally confusing in order to deter concealed carry. I once asked a law enforcement official what the law was for concealed carry in his jurisdiction and was told that "it is your responsibility to know the law." Well DUH!! That's why I asked the people who were enforcing the law!! I never did get a straight answer.

I am soory for that loss.
I lost a cousin when I was a teenager when she was shot and killed by her older brother so I too have that same thought in my head. Sad
