I think "stressed to heck" might be a milder description of how I feel.

I can relate to that.
I am also worried about my mum.
Whenever we brought the shopping to her, we have to put the bags and basket at the door, right the bell and wait till she show up rather than just use our key to get it.
I have not hug her for about 6 months now, just able to see her from a few meters away.

Tell us about your powder magazine ?

Worth starting a thread?

I don't know if it is worth starting a thread for. I just made a 2'x2'x1-1/2' (roughly) box with a bottom from 3/4" plywood and then lined it inside and out with 5/8" drywall. All glued construction with exterior wood glue. Then I made a matching lid with sides that go over the outside of the box. I ran a 2" high shelf of drywall for the lid to sit on so flames couldn't get to the plywood core. It is so heavy that I am going to put wheels on one end and a handle on the opposite side so I can move it around.

Doing okay here in the wilds of Ontario. Got my second Pfizer shot today. Warm here in the 70s-low80s. humid.

Good to hear Ron. The temp here is significantly lower than what you have right now…high teens °C during the day (although with wind chill they said it felt like 5.5°C the other day) and dipping down into single figures most nights…plus we have been getting a fair bit of rain.

I’ve held off of getting the COVID shot…I have hereditary medical considerations that concern me enough to say no, not at this time. A blood clot from my Dad’s lower leg put him in hospital with 4 heart attacks in a week when he was in his mid 50’s…I am having similar lower leg problems as he had, so I’m not tempting fate.

Does somebody need some rain? We got plenty during last days and it's still raining...

perhaps you all like our water better once it passed our breweries? Do your best, it's for a good cause...

@Vince: I had both my Pfizershots. I saw the pictures of people in IC and that convinced me. I wouldn't recommend to visit any hospital without having your COVID shots first...
when I'm allowed to chose on how I must die, I know the COVID-way is not what I would chose...

That said: they are still investigating something strange on my ticker but I'm believing all is going to be OK. I'm even very close to change my way of life as I'm preparing everything to wellcome my new (lady-)huntingfriend and to enter the world of hunting with birds of prey with Sibelle, my young red tail buzzard (or do you prefer "hawk"?) Wish me luck starting at my age with such a new (strong, young, ...) huntingfriend. We are all a little bit "nuts" aren't we? Smile

I have a relative (brother inlaw's father inlaw) and a few friends passed away due to COVID and often feel frustrated with friends that thought this is a joke or some lies orchestrated by the government.
Well dying is not a joke.

With the lockdowns in Australia somehow my business has gone through the roof and I am a hell lot busier than before.
OTOH my planned hunting trip is in jeopardy because we are not allowed to travel over 10km away from home.

from all accounts the first jab does stuff all...the 2nd one hits person hard as your body is learning how to fight virus so puts up a fight against 2nd lot of "poison/baddies" coming in.....nurse friend and another both said same thing, knocked them around for 48 hours then all good afterwards.
we here are doing OK.... OUR THREE freezers are full to brim, had to slaughter what were left of our sheep due to loosing the wee free grazing blocks we had, then I finally got a break and pigs that had been making a mess up at boss's farm made a mistake, just a small mistake mind, but when I was there with 223 in hand it was a fatal one...they were out in open 50 yards away from me with less than 40 yards to cover before they wouldve been safe...5 RAPID shots from the mini mauser saw 4 of them toes up in the grass..somewhere around 390lbs worth of pigs to process..... so life is good, being able to give meat away to friends and family really is an AWESOME thing.

Gelan…you stay safe down there in Sydney mate…we are hearing all sorts of horror stories about the spread of the Delta strain in Sydney.

Shame you lost your pasture paddocks mate, but that’s they way things go…at least you have the freezers to stock up the meat. Good job with the pigs mate…that’ll learn the buggers not to mess with Elvis. How are your son and daughter doing these days mate…all well?

Son is up in sunny north island fishing up a storm every chance he gets, tells us he helping out builder and may have job coming up with them.fingers crossed.
looks like the battle with booze has turned corner for better...fingers AND toes crossed.
and the pasture looks better now than did before...well it will when resown, man we have shifted a LOT of shingle.

Yesterday I received a message from NSW Health telling me that I am a close contact for being in the vicinity of a COVID positive person (I was shopping in Coles last saturday)
So I am required to do the test.
After 3 hours waiting in the queue, I finally had my first test - Ugh disgusting!!
Anyhow, this morning I receive the result that say I am NEGATIVE.

So all good. back to work today.
