who has the job of weighing the earth each day! and what scales do they use? wouldnt gravity working from both directions mean its weightless any way?

Very interesting Vince. I have a few comments:

1. There is a tribe in Africa in which the males wash their hair in cow urine to give it an attractive red color. Urine, by the way, in a healthy person or animal is sterile.

2. Ask the next dehydrated person you see if they are thirsty. Unless they are demented, they will be thirsty.

3. Having grown bananas, as I recall, new plants propagate from the roots of plants that have produced bananas and died so, I think they could live without man though not as efficiently as they do with mans help. The plant that really needs mans help is corn. If it wasn't for continuous attention, corn would in a short time degenerate into some fairly useless grass; actually corn is a grass.

4. If I'm ever trapped in a well in daylight, I'll try to remember to look for stars.

5. If the earth gains 100 tons a day in weight, that means in a year it gains 36,500 tons and its gravity will increase. As gravity increases, you will need to increase the elevation of your firearm sights. Actually, the increase in gravity, probably explains those shots I missed; thanks for the information.

Remember the tests they did after criminals were decapitated as a punishment ...they allegedly called out the criminals name and the "head" responded by looking towards the sound. Beyond that I have no idea how they would have made this startling discovery.

Apparently bananas as we know them need human help to reproduce but the wild ones manage nicely on their own, though the fruits are far less palatable due to the much larger(& viable) seeds.

I like these lists for the mixture of facts & half truths they contain - it's entertainment chasing down the realities. Very Happy

Actually it will happen again in 2016 and 2022 and 2033.

We only have a total of about a dozen possible calenders. That get recycled over and over again.

D is right about the Fridays for the years mentioned, any one that runs unix or linux can open up a terminal and type in "cal plus the year to find out.

No I meant that the days the year starts on, combining with leap years only allows for a dozen or so variations on our calender. So we keep going throw the same calenders, we just have to change the year on top.
