#1: HOT Day....COLD Beer Author: Vince, Location: Brisbane AUSTRALIAPosted: Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:35 am ---- Starting to heat up here a bit...a damn fine excuse to have a few beers...not that I need an excuse really.
A couple of mates and I sat down to partake of some enjoyable beer, nibbles and company yesterday afternoon. The company was great, the nibbles filling and the beer was wonderful. We started off with a nice cleansing Lemon Myrtle flavoured beer...just to quench the thirst a little so we could enjoy the next round of drinks...then we had a German wheat beer followed by a couple of German Dunkels.
More nibbles (chicken wings baked in a honey/soy/garlic marinade) then the mate bought out a rather interesting beer that I couldn't place. Try as I might I just couldn't work out what it was...then he showed my the bottle. Boy, to say I was surprised is an understatement...it was a boutique beer from Oregon in the US...I was certain it was a Belgium beer. It is called Dead Guy Ale...ROGUE...Oregon Brewed.
It was one of the nicest beers I have encountered...there will be more of this stuff in the future...if I can find more that is. It is 5.9% alcohol too, so it ain't exactly a weak beer.
Sorry about the quality of the pic, I had been drinking for a wee while, and I took the pic with my phone.
Cheers, Vince

Tonight I'm alternating Marston's Old Empire IPA & Badger Golden Champion.
Listening to Blue Man Group & chilling out (if old farts are allowed to do so...).
