I suggest you get some manuals that have the info you need in them...

Eeeek!!! First question...Do you have a reloading data manual? Which one? Have you read it if you do have one or two [is better]?

I have to agree with Pumpkinslinger. Besides...I don't use any of those powders...

I always use the bullet maker’s manual for load data!!!

The Hodgdon Reloading Data Center will give you a good idea and reference for a starting point. They list both Varget and IMR4064

Everyone seems to be on the same page, including me. Slow down! Make sure you understand loading and research the data thoroughly. No one is trying to hold you back, but we want you to be safe.

I've had excellent success with Varget and 165 & 168 grain bullets in my 30/06. Right off the top of my head, I don't remember how main grains of Varget I used but I know that the same load worked very well with Hornady Interbonds, Nosler BTHP match bullets, Barnes TSX and Barnes Banded Solids.

I've never used IMR 4064 for 30/06 loads.

Alright Kentucky hareraiser (no need to shout)...If you have it in stock or look it up in one of your manuals. My favorite load for .30-06 (Browning A-bolt) is Winchester or Remington cases with 58 to 59 grains of H4831SC under a 165 grain Sierra HPBT Game King. Pick your primer. I use CCI 200...

One of my favorite loads is 58 grains of IMR 4350 using 165 grain Sierra Game Kings. Use Federal brass and Winchester standard rifle primers.

Sorry for being a little short. Some recent discussions had me a little put out about people starting to reload without bothering to read anything about how to do it properly. I interpreted your question as coming from someone like that. I apologize.

As for the .30-06... I don't have one! Yet... Wink

I'm new to these forum and one thing I have learned is to be careful how you state your questions or posts. If written the incorrect you may get less then desired results. I shoot 150's in my 30-06's and of course both guns shoot different loads. my Smith & Wesson 1500 likes 57.5gr IMR 4350 and the Remington likes 59 gr IMR 4350.

I have an Interarms Mark X 30-06 and have had great success with IMR 4064 powder loading Hornady 165 grain Spire points and 165 grain SST bullets. I have used anywhere from 48.2 to 50.1 grains of IMR 4064 powder, the 50.1 being considered the max load. I have found that 49.0 grains of powder gives me the tightest groups. It pushes these bullets at around 2750 FPS. If I am not mistaken, the cartridge O.A.L. was 3.230. I used winchester staynless rifle primers. I have not had much luck with lighter bullets, my rifle really likes 165 and 168 grain bullets.
