So sorry to hear about your families lost. Take care of yourself, the grandkids will need you there. After what the boys went thru, seeing it and being their birthday, they are going to need it. You helped us thru a lot now it's time for us to return the favor.

I'm driving out this morning to Mt Isa...1700km each way...for Steve's funeral. Should be back by next Monday.

Once again, I'd like to thank each and every one of my friends on Hunting Nut for your kind words and unconditional support. The prayers and support offered by you all has been tremendous and please believe me when I say, that coupled with the support we have received from family and friends out here has been the "crutch" that certainly I needed to keep it together as much as was possible. The old Vince is starting to slip back, albeit slowly, but I'm on the mend thanks to the support given by all.

Hug Hug Bow Bow

I will never forget this support and will always be here for anyone who needs support help or assistance.

I'm taking a laptop and web cam with me so I should be able to get online at least once.

Cheers, Vince

Vince: deeply saddening news, my freind.

Sorry I missed this post....

Been a motorcyclist most of my life, seen the hi's, and....... the low's.
Your loss is felt here, Vince. It truly is.

I will shed tears for you tonight, and, him. Truly, truly tragic news.

Words sort of fail me right now and I can't be of much comfort on a key-board, but, if you are ever in the State's, and in this area, you have a Brother and a second home.

Strentgh to you and your family to carry on.....

-kevin.

Well guys, I arrived back home last night after what turned out to be a 4500 km round trip in six days....4 days of driving, the viewing and funeral on Friday, a day to recover from the wake on Saturday, then back on the road on Sunday. In all honesty, I am exhausted...but my daughter and grand sons are well worth it. The viewing also enabled me to say goodbye to Steve.

The viewing was very emotional, as was the funeral. My grand sons went in first with their Mother and that was the start of the tears. I went in after Steve's family had been through and Steve's second son Byron (9 yr old) was still in there. He stood at the head of the coffin gently stroking Steve's head for over half an hour. I stayed with him and didn't have the heart to take him out. It broke my heart, near ripped it out of my chest, to see him standing there, no tears, just pure unadulterated love for his Dad. These three kids have a long road of recovery in front of them.

I printed out the pages of support comments posted by all here in HuntingNut, and took them up to my daughter. She sat there reading them with tears in her eyes. She also sends her heartfelt thanks for your prayers and kind words.

My wife stayed in Mt Isa to help and support our daughter and grand sons. I told her to stay as long as she felt she was needed, and I don't care if that takes 12 months or more. They are well worth it.

Once again, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all of the prayers and support you have offered. Please, believe me when I say, your support has helped immensely. Just knowing that there is a friend "nearby" that I can talk to has made this terrible event more bearable and has allowed me to grieve easier.

I must offer special thanks to Mauserman (Dave) and his daughter rdncktink (Tanya). Your sympathy cards are very much appreciated and will never be forgotten.

Anyway...now for the "bad" news...the old Vince is back, exhausted, but back, so watch this space.

Cheers, Vince

Thought you guys might find this interesting.

Out here in aussie, we have what we call Road Trains. These Road Trains are in fact prime movers (I think you guys call them tractors) pulling as many as four full sized trailers.

My daughter referred to them as "Big Arsed Trucks".

Check out the videos below. I videoed these two as we overtook them.

Cheers, Vince
