Was a record number of deer tags in North Dakota last year, but still only managed to draw a doe tag. Took some comfort in making a nice 296 yard shot on her. Love that old .257 Roberts

Very good here in Pa. I hunted a two weeks and didn't get arrested even once!
Seriously(sic), I managed to find three of the dumbest deer in the mountains.
The little 270-08AI worked, in spite of my best efforts.

I shot two bucks in 2004. 12pt in Ontario with 7mmm rem mag, 300 yards out across a clear cut, used a Kimber M98 with 3-9x Burris Ballistic plex. Placed the 300 mark on the shoulder, moved it about 8inches to left to offset the slight wind, and it dropped right there. The other was 7pt 165lb
I shot in VT on the last day of blackpowder with a 50cal TC hawkins @ 137 yards. So I had a better year then normal.

Shot 5 Sitka Blacktails during a 7 day hunt around Vetern's day weekend. 4 bucks and a doe. 2 of the bucks (a 3X4 and 4X4) were realy nice for this area (SE AK). Shot 2 deer with .243 - 100 gr nosler part. and 3 deer with .300 win mag - 180 gr nolser accubond. I have one tag left just in case I start to go stir crazy one of these weekends. Season does not end until the Jan. 31st.

Very Happy It's still going on for us, Right Popgun?! I'll post a recap after January 15th. Current count is 1 buck and 2 does. Passed up on many others during first rut waiting to see if BigBoy was trailing behind. Oh well, back to the woods this weekend.

Saturday morning dropped a doe with the 260 Rem. Didn't hunt at all the second week.

I can only say ok. Usually we see lots of deer with a good mix of bucks and does. This year we hardly saw any does most dissapointing, as we had double doe tags. Opening day did yield us two deer, but the remainder of the season was a bust. The cold snap we had in early December put the deer off. They herded up and seem to be spending must of the day in deep cover, cattails and rushes. Come January the second extended season opens and I hope to get at least one more. I will have to hunt evenings as the mornings are just to slow.

I just got a little one this year...

My Brother posing with it.

Ok teasing about the "little one" LOL! This one is my best ever, something I doubt I'll beat. Non-typicals are too rare to think I'll find another... but its going to be fun trying.
