My biggest fear is seeing a big fat woman in robin hood tights!!! I get the same feeling as Al Bundy (in the show Married With Children) did when he saw Marcy Darcy naked!!! AhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my part of the country, people don't wear speedos.

Vint2, Coral or cow pen would work just fine. Heck, sometimes we don't have a cow pen handy. Try working cattle in the brush without a pen. Now that's a real rodeo.

I always tell my drugstore cowboy (want-to-be) friends that if you've never had to dig cow shit out of your ears, you aint a real cowboy. And no, it don't taste like grass!!

Vint2,

I'll take that as a compliment! ROFL

Vince,

They say that the storm is turning slightly to the north. This will put the brunt of the winds and heavy rain into the Houston/Galveston area and about 100 miles along the coast to the south. They don't even want to evacuate the 4th largest city in the US (Houston). The logistics would be a nightmare. I heard, yesterday, that they would have to move 3 million people. If it took a more southern route, it would have to be only a million. Houston is located slightly inland (about 50 miles), but is really flat country criss-crossed with bayous that will cause lots of flooding. All highways leading away from the coast are packed with traffic moving inland. Yesterday I saw hundreds of boats, motor homes, bus-loads of people, and about 40 ambulances on the road to San Antonio from Corpus Christi. The ambulances are evacuating the hospitals and nursing homes.

This storm is really big, with hurricane force winds reaching out about 100 miles from the center. My ranch is about 100 miles inland. They are predicting that my area will get a minimum of 50 mph winds, with gusts up to 75 mph, and 5 or 6 inches of rain.

I think I still need to ankle-tie my chickens to concrete blocks, to keep them from blowing away. Idea ROFL

No cows in the barn...O K....Can you herd the chickens into the barn? Fencing Laughing ROFL

Can't help it...Heard that Texans won't do anything unless it can be done on horseback...The visual: Cary on horseback herdin' chickens... Very Happy

If those chickens start flying off in a hurricane with 37 lb blocks on their ankles you better call for help and start shooting!!! Shooting ROFL

I don't know about herding chickens on horseback. That would be about as much fun as herding alley cats on horseback.

I do know that donkeys love to stomp on anything smaller than a cow or horse, so I wouldn't recommend using a donkey.

When I figured out that you can work cattle with a bucket of cubes, I sold all of my horses.

I once saw a demonstration where 600 yearling steers were rounded up out of a 1,000 acres brush pasture with a helicopter. It took less than 30 minutes. That was a sight to behold. But, I also heard that you can't work older cows with a helicopter, because the get smart and stick to the brush thickets and won't move, unless you fly in low and pop them on the rear with some rat-shot.
