The propaganda on the Chinese sites must have been phenomenal.
Now there's a culture that may have a chip on its shoulder...and motivations that will be hard to discern. Hard to deal with 2+ billion people whose energies are so easily shaped and harnessed by their govt. But there is an increasingly large group of dissidents, their growing economy has freed many to travel and so be exposed to other ways, so there is hope.
Check out the North Korean government website that tells the fairytale story of the Kim dynasty. These 'great leaders' were doing quadratic equations in pre-school. hmmm. The whole thing is so improbable that it's like listening to 5 year olds in full imaginary flight. Meeting Kim Il and keeping a straight face would be a challenge. Their government's fear of the outside has driven them into a loony bin of their own making. It will take awhile for that society to regain its senses.

Have a look at it, and have a read of the Forums....there are individuals from many different countries who are "members" of the KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION (KFA).
Check out the Organisation and the various Committee Position Holders, Delegates, Honorary Members and Business Agents of the KFA. Be prepared to have your eyes opened and your jaw to bounce off the floor...mine certainly did.
I am appalled by most of what I read in there....and very concerned.

This is exactly what the citizens of the few civilized nations in the world need to read. We live in a hostile world; people need to wake up and face the facts.

#22: Re: And Russia is our friend? Author: Pumpkinslinger, Location: NC foothillsPosted: Thu Sep 04, 2008 7:57 pm ---- I tried reading some of that website. Maybe I'm just too tired to understand it but it appears to be mostly gibberish. Their use of certain words doesn’t make sense. They appear to be trying to redefine words to fit their purpose. Gee, sort of reminds me of the way “liberals” talk and write. How can you have a “socialist” country where everyone is equal when you have a dictator controlling it? Ah well, we can see from North Korea’s contributions to technology, science, the arts, etc. that their way is a booming success… (Sarcasm is so hard to do in print)
#23: Re: And Russia is our friend? Author: Vince, Location: Brisbane AUSTRALIAPosted: Thu Sep 04, 2008 8:04 pm ---- Yer right there Punkin. What I found most amusing is the way they all call one another Comrade, and also the kick in the butt that the "President" (who lives in Spain and is Spanish ) dealt out to the new members who had their say....only the senior experienced members are allowed to do that. What a joke !!!
Cheers, Vince
#24: Re: And Russia is our friend? Author: OntheLasGallinas, Location: South TexasPosted: Fri Sep 05, 2008 6:26 am ---- The word Comrade is used as a mating call for all of the Gloria Steinem types in the world.
Speaking of Steinem, I told my wife that the Sara Palen appointment would bring out the true colors of the Steinem women libbers. I was correct. The first thing out of her mouth (when addressing the Palen VP appointment to the new media) was "Wrong Woman, Wrong Time."
This goes to show you that Steinem could give a hoot about women’s rights, when it conflicts with her socialist agenda.
