Spiders can be a real pain cause they are difficult to see....unless of course they are the larger variety. Snakes are not a problem....if you leave them alone, as a general rule, they will leave you alone.

Now bears and cougars.....thems is hungry buggers and we allegedly taste pretty good......the canibal tribesmen from Papua New Guinea in days gone by reckon "long pig" (white man) is pretty good stuff. wtf Shocked

Cheers, Vince

Bears and Cougars are a different group.

Snakes should be eliminated on-sight.(I aint 'fraid nothin what got legs,
'Cept them damn TOADS they got in 'Stralia.)

All the others have some exploitable weakness....

Bloody Cane Toads.......I don't think I have ever heard anybody say a good word about them. Anything that eats one will more than likely die cause they have a large poison gland on each side of their big ugly head. Mongrel things they are!!!

Best thing is the way they "take flight" when cracked with a good 3 Iron stroke. Its a sight to see. Funny though...they don't make that same "snik" sound like a golf ball. Confused Laughing Laughing

Cheers, Vince

Does a 22 birdshot load do 'em in?

Not sure....never tried. I have used .357 Mag shot loads that I put together myself, and I have used an air rifle, but you have to be real close (6" - 8"), a 150gr SWC from a S&W 586 does it well too. Dettol will also kill them. Surprised Just pour it on and they go crazy.

They have a very hard bony head and are pretty hard to kill. The politically correct way to do it is to put them in a plastic bag and drop it into the freezer.....nowhere near the fun of a golf club though. Very Happy Laughing

Welcome to HuntingNut hauken. Sit awhile....notice you already have a beer, well done, a Eagle Super Strong Beer, or maybe a Ringnes Julebokk if you have any left from Christmas......feel free to jump in with gems of wisdom.

What sort of bears do you have to contend with in Norway? Can't say I'm familiar with the wildlife in your neck of the woods.

Cheers, Vince

Well here on the mainland we only have ordinary brown bears, but on the atlantic islands like Bear island, Jan Mayen, Hopen and of course Svalbard. Polarbears are plentifull. And going outside without a weapon is a gamble with your life.
Im out of Ringnes julebokk im arfraid. Eagles are imported beers and expensive as hell. My favourite is Carlsberg pilsner and Ringnes lite.
cheers m8 Very Happy

After a few beers, do the bears become beers and everyone gets bare?

I guess, whatever your career can handle right?

Gidday Wiley. Mate....Cane Toads are poisonious....NO WAY would I ever even remotely consider eating one. I have heard of people licking the poison glands to get a high.....they deserve everything they get!! They have two rather large poison glands , one on each "shoulder". Countless millions of our native animals have died from eating them. Some of our birds have worked out that they can flip them over and attack the belly, but even that is no guarantee.

Oh yeah.....and they are about as ugly as a hat full of festered butts !!!

Cheers, Vince

Yeah, I've kinda got a concern with that one too. It's so tempting to ask what a hatful of festered butts might look like, but I'm afraid he'd actually tell us. wtf So...no Vince, I'm not asking

Well, its an old aussie saying...."ugly as a hat full of a#@e h&#@s". Oh yeah, and I couldn't think of anything uglier to describe the looks of a cane toad, or maybe "the north end of a south bound cow"......or, maybe if I posted a pic of myself. Very Happy Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Or maybe a pic taken when "one" is as drunk as a skunk. Wink
