What is more constructive than humans? Everything was put here for our use and we use things. This is not to say we always use wisely, but that is a matter of learning the proper way, and that is extremely debateable!!!!

Beavers ...builds an entire ecosystem.
Bees... colony of manufacturers that feed many
weaver birds and wood peckers .... homes for themselves and other critters
ants.. colony and waste disposal processing
muskrats..helps beaver with the ecosystem
certain fish.. maintain coral to keep oceans healthy
bats... colonies to keep down the insect population.
can go on but wont.

Everything was put here for All to use not just humans.
or it wouldnt be here in the first place.

so dear friend are we varmints??
all comes done to a human perspective again doesnt it?
no offense as you well know sir.

There have been human varmints thoughout human history, but man is still the greatest of all builders and benefactors. All flora and fauna have therir own little ecological niche and most can't survive outside of it. God gave man dominion over all things, and that is the bottom line. Smile

If man was suddenly removed from the planet (not that I'm advocating that by any means), what harm would it do to all the other creatures in nature compared to what good it might do the earth? Please don't tell me population control, that won't wash.

Where I come from, the fish, the geese, many other wild animals have been affected horribly by the damage that hydro dams do to the water system. People who have subsisted on the flesh of those creatures for thousands of years are refusing to eat them, goose flesh has turned a funny purple color it never used to be. Those people know what they're talking about. The flora and fauna around my hometown is dying a slow death because of the smoke and acid rain being created by a copper smelter. animal diseases (yes, natural ones) are being transmitted from one area to areas they've never been before because of the cutlines for hydro-electric lines. Lake Winnipeg (one of the biggest lakes in the world) is dying because of the pollution being pumped up the Red River. Agricultural land in the area where I live now is becoming so stripped of natural nutrients that it's at risk of becoming a desert over the next 50 years. If your belief system tells you that God gave man dominion over the rest of nature that's fine, go ahead and believe it, but I can't see where man as "ruler" over nature has done anything terribly beneficial for nature. People come to my country to enjoy the wonders and beauty of the wild and the natural environment and that just makes me think "how bad must it be where they come from?"

Hug Very Happy
sitting here in montana I agree to you darlin.
Ive been seeing how man's constructions are so very destructive as new cabins and log homes are on the increase here.

I personally dont believe in the dominion that you do.

God gave man dominion over the earth and all that dwell s therein. Dominion over nature is HIS domain, and will stay that way.
I don't know about where you live, but I have seen the eagles come back, whitetail deer at record numbers. We are supposed to be good stewards and take care of what we have, but some squander and then complain of poverty!!
As for my belief, I am a Christian. Like you said, you can believe what you want, that is your choice.

Thats right! I'll believe the way I want to. And I believe We are part of nature and not its steward.

Crackpo...Aah...shot's right. But we could eat ourselves out of house and home if we squander what we have. Just like the dinasours did...[they were going extinct before the catistrophic meteor hit].

Rant Stupid dinosaurs!....but wasn't the time they had frolicing about the planet substantially greater than any time we've spent on it so far?? wtf wtf hmmm....

Yes the Dino's were here aloooooooooooong time and we have only been here a tiny bit in comparison. And we have already screwed things up pretty bad. Sad
And Bushy, Im not saying squander what we have, all Im saying is let nature take its course, We need to stop interfering ALL the time. If that makes me a crackpot than so be it.
The original Americans (indians) lived life the way it should be lived, in harmony WITH nature. Not trying to control it or be its STEWARD. They did great until white folk came along and messed them up.

Being a steward means to take care of and not abuse and misuse. We are all supposed to be good stewards. It is called respect and caring!!! Smile

I have all the respect in the world for nature, But she has been taking care of herself for millions of years before me and I suspect will be for millions of years after me and mankind are long gone.
