OK, I’ve never heard that mate, but you learn something new every day. Now to try and find the torque setting for those screws, and if there is an order that they need to be tightened…might be easier said than done methinks.

I’ve heard the same Punkin, but I don’t think (and hoping) this rifle has that problem as the mean Point of Impact doesn’t appear to alter after being set.

It seems there are no set torque setting for the SMLE Rifles…they just need to be tight…ensuring certain parts are in place. This makes sense to me as the soldier in the field wouldn’t have access to a torque wrench if he identified a screw that had worked loose.

There are some things that need to be corrected if loose parts are identified. Have a look at the following link for guidance and info…

Seems I need to have a look at my #5 to make sure things are tight. I know the forward grip felt a fraction loose when I was cleaning it on the weekend.
