Well, I’m off on a 2800 km return trip, to Townsville Qld, next weekend to attend my daughter’s wedding. That’s two days of driving each way, the distance being equivalent from New York City to Atlanta GA and return. To be honest, I’m not really looking forward to as it will be very tiring, and I’m not really getting any younger (a few weeks short of 72 now).

I am looking forward to the wedding though. My daughter has asked me to play her in with my bagpipes and I’ve been furiously learning the music she wants…then the same at her reception. We will have a couple of days rest in Townsville, then return home over two days.

Oh well, best I get my butt into gear and look at what I’m going to pack in my bag for this trip.

Vince, don't be mistaken: Red Bull doesn't make you younger!

in the old days you had to have the oil of your car exchanged before you could return... they improved the quality of engines and oil, but that doesn't mean you don't get tired less easy...

So I won’t grow wings mate…or get any younger? I don’t use those energy drinks…I’m not convinced they are good for us older buggers.

I’m sitting in my Volvo dealership having my car serviced now, so oil etc will be good, but you are right about the tiring part of things, so I will be taking it very easy. Luckily I will have my wife and Mother-Out-Law with me so I’ll have plenty to keep me awake. My biggest concern will be other drivers..hopefully they will be on the ball as well.

Country music helped me to stay awake during my trips to Brno for hunting, but that was only 1150 km from home... and I think I shouldn't compare the motor-roads in Germany with those down under...

but I even don't do that anymore, I now fall asleep as soon as the 2nd or 3th advertising block comes on TV... maybe I still work to much? Smile

Well, I’m off on my way in about 20 minutes…will be at least two days before I can get back onto The Nut. Now y’all play nicely or I’ll have to give Suz a call and get her to break out her switch.
