#15: Re: Holidays Author: Elvis, Location: south island New ZealandPosted: Mon Jan 01, 2024 8:44 pm ---- I have worked all the stat holidays this time around,so the pay packet will be boosted nicely....now some folks get all grumpy about how much of that the taxman takes..nope not me
I always have about a third deducted for tax to make the country run...so during a stat day pay I get 100% of my hourly rate to KEEP... and a day in leiu for later on..... whats not to be happy about???
working nightshift tonight on the 2nd January which is also a stat day for us..... I predict will be an eleven hour shift or close to it..some folks will drag the chain and make sure they maximise the hours,I will just get on and do my job and what will be will be.
spent Christmas with wife n daughter at home so was good.... yes have eaten far too much,,,still munching way through it all..oh dear how sad what a terrible first world problem to have to deal with....
as Fred Dag sang oh so well a few years back "we dont know how lucky we are mate"
