Well folks ,life takes some strange turns at times,things happen that cant be explained any other way than the Scratch

"big fella upstairs" has hand in it.

my workplace has been rather tense for months,we have had contracts thrown at us that were full of fish hooks...no way were we signing them as they were Mad

,we bit back and things got ........almost nasty.
I went to top and contacted owners and put forward case....things settled somewhat and then flared again,so again I contacted owners...
you could say relations between myself and HR woman were not the best.
well anyway a couple of weeks back another company headhunted me to go work for them,no mucking around I contacted owners of company and straightaway without hesitation they matched offer...well made it worth my while to stay so I walked away a happy camper. Very Happy

fast forward a couple of weeks and my pay hadnt changed so a couple of VERY tense phonecalls were made and heated words exchanged, got that sorted finally and all good again.
get txt to go and see HR woman,to be honest I was in wrong headspace completely and my attitude wasnt good...didnt bother replying.
went into office to see manager and HR woman walked into room and asked if I had got message,I replied "Im here now" she left room I said again"Im here now" as door shut behind her again I said"Im here now"
at this point voice from next room,the owners daughter (top lady,wish she would take over company) "Play nice Milky"
my supervisor chimes in "yes play nice Milky PLEASE"
"OK I will play nice" so off I tottle Sad

and have pleasant visit, actually got apology for how things have developed and asked how things can improve. seems my constant working on bosses paid off as we have won some long service leave for ALL staff now as well as round of pay rises. new contracts here to sign.
anyway left office and headed out to my truck,grabbed 3 random rags off passengers floor someone else had put here,they come in large sack from commercial supplier ,the clothing they made from is dumped in large bins by public..small amount of $$$ goes to charities from sale.
anyway I get into pickup truck half hour later and notice printing on rag...it was front or rear of a TEESHIRT....

to say I was freaked out is putting it mildly
so a month later having digested it all I have printed play nice milky on rag and will place it in my truck where I see it everyday.
today I emailed the first Presbyterian church sugarland and told my tale as thats where Teeshirt origonated from....only God knows where its been and where it traveled to get to me,to deliver right message at right time...a real Forest Gump moment.

WOW…sounds like you have been having some fun times at work mate. Most importantly, everything has panned out well for you and your workmates.

Be careful of the HR section, especially one who is a biatch Mad

…she has the power to cause your career a lot of grief mate. Being trained and qualified in Human and Physical Resource Management, I saw a lot of the things they can, and will do, to stuff someone over, why, because they can…in some cases they will flex their muscles just to prove they have them.

It is good that you won this and did so fairly. It turned out well for you and the company that employs you. do your best for them and your mates at work and teach them all to "play nice" with each other. there is no need for a "them and us" attitude. they have to make a profit to pay you all and you all have to do your best so they can make that profit.
God bless you all... even the HR lady. she needs it as much as anyone. Wink

HR sure is hit and miss. I've worked with a few good ones, and several that were just terrible.

Sometimes those messages pop up just when we need them, huh!

Most human resource managers get a bonus when they get a new employee for less than the going rate but are capable and good for the company. This can get in the way of fair treatment of employees. You really can't blame them for doing their job and wanting that bonus.

Still have to remind myself to play nice...not as often,but still do. That but of tee shirt got chucked out by another driver one day I wasn't in truck.folks are a bit weird like that.
