I think it will affect every licensed shooter
Pumps next
Then Bolts
Then single shots

The lever shotguns have always been with us
So a new brand makes it all different?

Unfortunately mate I don't believe it is scaremongering.
Penny Wright of The Greens (the moron whose failed Senate Inquiry which was nothing more than a vindictive ludicrous witch hunt) has jumped on the bandwagon, as has the Coalition for Gun Control weenies. You can bet your bottom dollar (or left nut) that Philip Alpers is also in there with his (proven) false statistics and outright lying diatribe.

Scaremongering...unfortunately I don't believe so mate because Victoria Police Minister Wade Noonan said high-capacity firearms, such as the Adler A110 shotgun, are “already under active consideration” by the national Firearms Policy Working Group and he has "directed" his Police Commissioner to take it to the Police Commissioner Conference where it will be discussed.

Intelligent push back on the personal, public and political levels is the only alternative. Most non-gun people have perceptions formed by the media, movies and, unfortunately too often, comments from gun owners that confirm that we are all violent people looking to blast anyone who disagrees with us. Most are poorly informed about existing laws and that the vast majority of gun owners are honest, law abiding and responsible persons.

Often you have to distance yourself from the situation in the USA. This is not a criticism of our US friends. Wie have far different laws with respect to property and personal defence, no protected right to bear arms and other cultural and historical differences. Too easily our gun ownership discussions can wrongly be influenced by images and issues from the US that really don't apply.

Staying underneath the radar doesn't work. There will always be some incident that involves the use of firearms that puts the issue front and centre again. Defending gun ownership at these times is often futile and even counter productive. Correcting public perceptions and eventually political agendas during the quiet times can work. Don't try to defend the indefencible. Any design factor of a firearm that makes it a better human killing tool is guaranteed to be an issue. Magazine size is a perfect example. If it can't be honestly and reasonabley related to hunting effectiveness, target shooting efficacy or collection value then you are going to have difficulty in offsetting its advantage to the criminal and terrorist in the minds of a fearful public.

A long and perhaps controversial response I know. I hope I haven't offended anyone.

I don't think anything you said was offensive, only constructive.

The problem here is that the only media coverage given is to the antis

The 1887 lever gun has been with us for ever [sorry 100 years less then colonisation] and just now all the hysteria.

There are a couple of different polls going. Have voted on them as well

I believe one of the best ways to support our stand is to turn the politician's (the ANTI ones) arguments around back onto them. Don't try and justify ownership of firearms...turn it around to make the ANTI justify their stand against ownership of firearms. Doing this gives firearms owners a lot more leverage and data to shoot down (no pun intended) the arguments so often put forward by the ANTIs and their puppet politicians.

For arguments sake, when they say firearms are dangerous, ask them what is the sport where most deaths occur (Lawn Bowls, but don't mention the demographic that participates)...get them to list the sports where most injuries occur (firearms sports won't even get a mention here).

It is an unfortunate fact of life that in Australia we will never be able to justify to the ANTIs or their puppet politicians ownership of firearms, but we can destroy a lot of their arguments by making them justify their stand with facts...not the manipulated and usually deceitful statistics they tout (these are easy to prove wrong). Doing this is a bit like reverse psychology. When asked why you want a firearm say, "because I choose to participate in shooting sports, what is your justification for opposing firearm ownership...justification with truthful and factual statistics."

One of the worst things we can do is say, "We have had this firearm for this many years without problem...the 'new' firearm is no different or worse." This is paramount to saying to the ANTIs, or the politicians, that what we already have, and have had for years, is JUST AS BAD as the new firearm they are looking at classifying to a higher level. This will only cause them to look at existing firearms with a view to restricting or banning ownership retrospectively.

A short follow up on this one...

I spoke to a guy I trust without reservation the other day. Seems there is more to this than meets the eye. Firstly, it is believed that the Queensland Police will NOT consider revisiting firearms classification in regards to lever guns...at this time. They recently (not sure how long ago) looked at the classifications and stated that there are no problems with existing rulings and there is no intention (word I got is will not) of revisiting with a view to considering reclassification of any firearms.

Now for the funny part. It seems that Victoria is the "odd one out" when it comes to carry guns for their Police Force. Their sidearm is the S&W 40mm semi auto. All other States carry the Glock 40mm.

Apparently S&W had some sort of problem with their pistols (don't know what exactly as I don't follow the pistol industry these days) and when VICPOL looked at things it was going to cost them more to "upgrade" (?) the S&W than it would to change over. The importer of Glock is QLD based and prior to this VICPOL and the importer had a difference of opinion on "something" regarding sidearms. VICPOL, and allegedly their Police Minister had input, eventually selected a US distributor to supply the sidearm. After the problem with the S&W unit, there was more discussion between the Glock importer and VICPOL about sidearms, but the importer basically walked away.

Now, who do you think is the importer for the Adler A110...why the QLD based importer of course. Word is that the consideration of reclassification is "payback" for the importer not "assisting" or being supportive of VICPOL with its sidearm problems.

I know the diatribe above seems vague, however I am not privy to the entire story...only the bits and pieces I have mentioned, but it seems to me to involve a lot of "political crap" and "bad blood". Also, I have reason to believe that the guy who told me this had reason to "hold back" on telling me exactly what took place between the parties concerned.

Bottom line...fingers crossed, we won't need to be overly concerned... yet...about any reclassification, certainly in QLD.

The "One World Government" crowd cannot not allow capable and self sufficient people to have firearms. They will peck and pick, and lie and distort, they will use fear mongering and any other tool they have at their disposal to strip you of you firearms. Fear is their best tool, the world is full of, for lack of a better word or description PUSSY'S. How easy is it to strip people of their rights when you use fear and a promise of safety against them.

Alpers is a chronic mastur bater. As for raising IQs...he certainly raised the IQ of NZ mate, but on arrival here, he shot ours to sh1t!! The sooner he takes a 'bait' the better.

He is a 'learned PHD' at Sydney University and he uses his position to put bullsh1t facts and statistics into any and every forum that the ANTIs attack. He has been proven to be a lying jerk so many times one would think that he would crawl into a hole somewhere and bury himself...but he won't. Typical of all the ANTIs around the world...doesn't matter how many times they are proven wrong, they are right (in their own mind that is).

OK...the excrement has hit the oscillating air circulation device in relation to the DEMON WEAPON, the Adler A110 shotgun.

The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) interviewed the Australian importer, Robert Nioa, at his Brisbane complex yesterday. I'm damned if I know why Nioa even allowed himself to be interviewed or allowed them to film one of his staff members shooting the Adler, but he did. Unfortunately it appears to have backfired on him because he came out of the interview looking like a 'redneck in a suit'. This has to be one of the most biased broadcasts I've seen in many a long day.

The interview... The 'Interview'

Of course the usual Anti-Gun Lobby got involved, and in fact pretty much dominated the broadcast.
NZ favourite export Phillip Alpers...here's a run down on this cretin... Phillip Alpers the professor with no education
Samantha Lee Gun Control Australia and Senator Penny Wright who had her arse handed to her on a plate at her recent failed Senate Enquiry.

Bottom line, it seems that the import of the Adler A110 has been blocked by 'Canberra'. Because of this, it is almost guaranteed that ALL lever action firearms will be put under the microscope by 'Canberra'.

The ANGRITY has risen again.
