While I'm neutral on medical mary jane, the State of Illinois has introduced a proposal to have one or the other, that is Guns or Mary Jane.

I don't think any amendment has suffered as much as the 2nd and with the good old Chicago machine going, it will get worst.

This is not law yet!!, but given the idiots in chi-town, it will.

Illinois Proposal

Ya know that's something I've been wondering about. This MJ legalization thing has for some reason been passing. Not too many years ago it was laughed at. Washington state and Colorado just legalized it for recreational use. Oregon has had it on the books for medicinal purposes, don't know why they didn't make it legal for recreation, but anyway (as you pointed out) they're also tying it in with carrying a gun, but you can drink alcohol and carry a gun. Something's amiss. I don't see how these things get passed in the first place, Oregon of all places is a haven for the Bohemian lifestyle types, the marijuana vote always comes up and always gets shot down yet in WA and CO it even gets recreational approval and still the Fed. doesn't recognize it as legal, so you can still get busted for it. They have some nice rules like you have to be a certain age, you can't take it over the state border, you can't sell it yourself and all that seemingly lame legal stuff, but the feds can still bust you, and that seems to be ok with everyone. I'm sayin something's fishy here. If it's legal in that state who the heck is going to defend your use, and who the heck is going to keep the mafia and the biker gangs and LA hoods from taken over some nice new territory. In Arizona (home of gang land Mexican border drug trafficking) they won't pass any legalization because it would disrupt the economy, cause a freekin war, and keep the snowbirds from havin a good time (and the many freeloaders that come there for the warm weather).

Oh well they have all the precautions in place to thwart any illegal activity, you have to this and you have to that to buy it. Guess what! that's only for law abiding citizens to obey! Just like illegal purchases of guns there will be illegal sales of marijuana and (unlike buying guns illegally) it's going to cost those states federal money and the fed isn't going to bail anybody out of jail because they don't recognize it as legal.

It only makes it easier for the corruption to begin and for some reason the states that legalize it don't give a rats behind. The tax payers are going to foot the bill, and it's them that voted for it, so be it. Next step will be huge federal prison construction (Obama will be hiring) and lots of jobs. The administration will have something to lower the unemployment rates although it will be migrant construction workers, it doesn't matter as we have an amnesty program for illegals and that will also keep the federal costs down during construction, allowing the feds to pad their wallets even more.

So it's a means of building a larger government infrastructure you just have to give it some time to work. In 2050 we'll all be federal employees with no one to foot the bill but the illegals and that'll make the borders safer.

Why leaglise it?
Look at the amout of time, money and resources that are being used to stop its importation and use.
Compare that to the mount of "Tax" you can make out of it and at the same time gut the drug cartels shipping MJ, makes common sense, the heads of govt seem to be aquiring a bit of common sense or is it just greed and the old saying about taxation, you cant steal from theives?

Well it might just stabilize the cost of it and the tax they impose will be limited to what they can take. But again that's the 'law' abiding buyer and the illegal buyer will pay less. In Colorado you can grow up to 6 plants at home, legally have up to one ounce while traveling, you can also gift to a friend up to one ounce. I'd say they're missing out on some taxes.

I don't think WA. has the law in place just yet but their proposal is possession by anyone younger than 21, possession of larger amounts, and the growing of unlicensed or unregulated marijuana remains illegal under state law. So it sounds like WA. is going to tax the daylights out of it from seed to user. Better to move to Co. if you want to freely use.

Here's a snippit from Eric Holder;
Under the new guidelines, federal prosecutors are required to focus on eight enforcement priorities, including preventing marijuana distribution to minors, preventing drugged driving, stopping drug trafficking by gangs and cartels and forbidding the cultivation of marijuana on public lands.

The attorney general told the Washington and Colorado governors that the Justice Department will work with the states to craft regulations that fall in line with the federal priorities, and reserves the right to try to block the laws if federal authorities find repeated violations.

I guess there's some problems with banks taking MJ moneys but the fed gave them some loop holes too. What great guys.

MJ is an integral part of the under belly of NZ, well it was, then along came "P" or pure methamphetamine, now we have all these new synthetic cannabis and its analogues and thats causing more problems than all the others combined because its LEGAL so every idiot this side of the moon is using it.
Not only do we not know the effects long term but the guys selling it are making a killing - literally. $6K a day in one shop and each hit is only $20 so he's selling a truckload.
I don't mind the occasional booze hound, but I hate druggies. Booze and Guns don't mix, Drugs and guns don't mix.
Don't let the minority leftie druggies ruin your rights cause thats whats going to happen
