For the Model 700 VS and Sendero, the maximum torque settings should be no more than 45 in/lbs for each screw. On the Model 700 BDL and ADL synthetic and wood stocks, the guard screws should be tightened to a hand tight fit or no more than 35" lbs.

Thats right off Remingtons site Smile

Fellas it is not a matter of coming loose..it is a matter of not torquing the action and a great way to get accuracy. Case(s) in point.

2 different 300 RUMS in SAKO 75 stainless fiberglass guns. Both identical. One liked 55"/lbs and shot 180 Partitions golds at 3300 + fps and put them in .946" at 300 yds.
The other put 3 200 gr accubonds at .675" at 300 yards at 3150 fps but only at 30 "/lbs.

Neither gun would replicate these groups with these reloads at 300 except on that, and only that setting. Go figure! And both SAKO's , like all SAKOs were free floated from the factory so it was NOT a matter of up pressure on the barrel from the front nub of the pressure pad of the forearm!!!

See what I mean?

Well POP you know alot more then I do!

Tell me is is the same reason the Lee-Enfeild Mk1 No4 were good at extended ranges because of the barrel "vibration" ?? Execpt this is more of a whole action vibration ?? Confused

It can be a lot of different things. Each rifle is its own entity.
