Pretty amazing technology. They are using a composite resin. They also have stero-lith machines that fuse powdered metal to make metal parts.

kind of like the wood laths that have been around fo donkeys. you put subject A in one end and X amount of wooded subject A look alikes come out the other.
works with feelers and cutters plurry cleaver.

We have one of these at my college, I've used it a few times for projects.

I've used it, but the ABS style of 3D printer doesn't make me too interested. Mainly because the parts although good for mock ups, I doubt that the "usability" claims are to be believed. I'd rather CNC machine my parts personally but I guess for engineers who don't know how to make anything it helps when the printers work off CAD files and don't complain when the parts would otherwise be unmanufacturable. 
Still litho processes seem neat, but very small scale is where that is heading. It is making head way in IC production, to add mechanical and electrical components on one silicon die. Which is also good for 3 dimensional IC manufacturing that is developing so that die size can expand upwards not just side to side.
