Mennonite schools don't get government funding.
They are and always have been pacifists and conscientious objectors.
I envy them their faith but wouldn't trade religions with them.

ok then cut off anything American, power, fuel ,water mains if they dont want to support main stream living fine and dandy but nooo way should they have the benifits it provides. people/ organisations like this really peeve me off. pacifist and concientious objectors aye well then those same service people dont owe them diddly squat either way.

IMO the whole point of the US is to allow people to practice their beliefs and express themselves without fear of persecution. However, as Gelan points out, it seems to me rather foolish and ungrateful to sort of "spit in the eye" of the country that makes sure you can enjoy those freedoms.

Yah and some of these religious groups take it a little to far, last weekend in Ottumwa, Ia the westboro baptist church had 2 members from their group out of Kansas boycott a soldiers funeral who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month. But since the SCOTUS upheld their right to protest funerals under the 1st amendment, their was nothing the family of the soldier could do.

Ok look at it this way (and I'm not trying to be offensive, just subjective). Is it not a spit in the eye of the country, to be antagonistic towards the religious freedoms we enjoy? Our military (at least in past wars) has allowed for pacifism. They could be in non-combatant roles. I'm not a person that would want to be considered ungrateful to my country after serving in the military in a non-combat role (which I did), but I think what's going on here is more of a love of country, over the love of God. We may not see it that way but the pacifist religions see it that way. We don't have to like it, just live with it, and share in the pride that you have for the country (where religious freedom is what it's all about).

Sorry but I do not take this group at Westboro Baptist Church as being a religion, this is a group of people that spews hatred, and they feed off hatred. Just the thought of exercising one's 1st amendment rights in such a sh$tty fashion absolutely kills me.

I can tell you that I'd definitely be arrested and charged with assault, fighting and probably public disorder if I heard and saw such a misguided group of individuals trying to interrupt and screw up the services of a military funeral that I was attending.

One of these days, the Westboro Baptist church are going to f**k with the wrong person, and these "anarchists, (or would that be the) anti-christ," will get the everliving shit sued out of them or worst.

I'm with you mate. I would go down fighting, not the authorities, but these morons...I would take as many with me as was possible.

They are a waste of space, a waste of good food, oxygen thieves. They have not earned, and do not deserve, the rights of the citizens who respect their country, or the respect of the country. Maybe, in the not too distant future they are gonna upset the wrong person and he or she is gonna take some of them out...permanently.

Personally, I reckon a good way to deal with their protest is to have a 6' x 4' trailer load of very rotten dead pigs on the back of your car, then pull up amongst them and wait. If they don't move on, a high pressure hose carefully "aimed" into the trailer should get them moving.
