The following website has a VAST not all but a VAST number of owners manuals for pistols, rifles, shotguns etc.
Go to this website: http://stevespages.com/page7b.htm
It is laid out alphabetically by manufacturer.
Enjoy

Manufacturers MUST provide FREE manuals for their firearms. If Steve is helping to provide these FREE (required) manuals...I see no legal problem.

I suspect that there is no legal problem in reading printed material that is posted on the internet. Reproduction and distribution without permission might be another matter. Take care...

His site is full of copyright violations and bad (dangerous) load data.
The manufacturers do have to provide the material but to copy and distribute them through a website without written (and displayed) permission is just as illegal as robbing a bank.
If you want the manuals go to the manufacturer and get it legally from them.
Copyright crime is a pet peave of mine - I have written material and had it stollen many times and more often than not it is impossible to stop the process. Software and articles are all copyrighted as soon as they are written - no matter the format they are in.
(I own the copyrights to this post and the forum owns the copyright to the entire forum)

I would like to see a firearm manufacturer pursue the copyright infringement, lay an information and get a conviction on a firearms manual. By bringing the infringer to court would do more damage to the company than any gain that the company would get for the alleged damage done. I also went back to the site and he does say that the information is archival (OLD) information. At the end of the day, we are all adults here and if you don't want to go to the site then don't. Joe B does bring up a more likely scenerio though.
It is too bad that you have not been given the acknowledgment for your written material at the end of the day.

I guess what I am trying to get across is:
(My opinion - my morals - not trying to force this on anyone else)
Just becuase someone doesn't get prosecuted doesn't make it legal.
Speeding is illegal whether you get caught or not.
Cheating on your taxes is wrong whether you get caught or not.
Stealing material (movies, songs, written material) is against the law whether you get caught or not.
It is black and white - there is no gray for me.
If you feel OK with stealing or supporting someone who does then that is your morals - not mine.
This is not directed at any individual - The "YOU" is the collective you of the people in this country.
I am stepping off my soap box now.

Each day is new - today is not as good as I had at the beginning of last week but overall I am better. Fewer pain meds - about half what I was taking a year ago and my back seems to take a bit more before screaming at me - and I am better at not doing too much.
Thanks for asking...
How are you doing? Getting enough range time?

As Bushy says Paul...keep working at it mate. There are times when relief can come from the strangest of places.
I have a bad back, neck and knees mate, albeit not a nasty bad back, only cervical and lumbar spondylosis, arthritis, bulging discs and an impinged sciatic nerve, and the best relief I have had came from my Physiotherapist using acupuncture and weight training. He is a power lifter and using all his knowledge in these areas, he managed to get me more mobile and pain free than I have been for years. I would never have thought that lifting weights would be a treatment for a bad back, but it worked a treat...when done properly and under supervision.
Looking at "Steve's" website, I note that he has copyrighted the website, but makes no mention of the manuals he has available being copyrighted, he asks for people to "lend" him manuals to copy and produce and he asks for a "donation". What the legality of all this is I have no idea...but it doesn't sound right to me.
I'm sorry to hear that your intellectual property has been stolen Paul... that is just not right mate.
Cheers, Vince

Better day today! Thanks Vince. I am a member of the web-mail page for the library of congress and copyright office so I get monthly updates on the ever-changing laws. As far as steve's pages are concerned he can't legally copyright the copyrighted material on his site - but it is not my problem. If he ever gets caught, the first step will be a cease and desist order and then if he doesn't comply within 30 days he will be charged. Since he doesn't have any money he can't really be fined but the server he is on can be... They are the ones that will be hurt.

I agree PaulS, your best bet is to get the firearms manual directly from the manufacturer.
