Your not wrong there Elvis.
They had a contract on Lord Howe for the goats for 2 months.
I think they did it in under 2 weeks.

Do it with .22 rifles? Now that sounds challenging...

I have to ask...
What has changed in their environment?
Packs need a certain amount of their diet to be rodents in order to breed so how come there are so many coming together in a single pack? What happened to their instinctive fear of people?
Something very dramatic has happened in that area to cause this kind of behavior.... need to fix that and then the wolves will go back to their normal behavior.

Extreme hunger does funny/frightening things, If thier usual diet has dissapeared thier hunger maybe what is forceing the dramatic change of behaviuor. they may all have been driven into the same area in search of food and banded together by necessity rather than by choice. the fish/ shark/dolphins do this after herrings maybe its similar.

If they offer me a plane ticket, and a bunch of 168gr GMM I'd be out there in a heart beat.

At 250 euros each, all you got to do is to get 10, then its all expenses paid..
At least it will be from Canada.. ( From Oz, it'll cost more than getting the whole 400 wolves)

I kinda wonder about this one. 400 wolves in one group? Unless they were constantly on the move they'd eliminate all food sources very quickly. If you've ever read PRAVDA you'll understand why I'm skeptical about news coming out of Russia. I wonder if the pack is lead by Bigfoot...
From Wikipedia "The average pack consists of 5–11 animals; 1–2 adults, 3–6 juveniles and 1–3 yearlings,[67] though exceptionally large packs consisting of 42 wolves are known. Wolf packs rarely adopt other wolves into their fold, and typically kill them."

I'm with you Pumpkin, sounds too far fetched to be true. If they had photos to back it up that would really help. For instance how do they know the number is around 400 anyway? If you think about it they couldn't be all in one place at once to count them, they're not really very social with other groups and as you say, they would have to swarm like locusts to be able to feed that many individuals. They eat a lot anyway.
so there

I think they would have turned on each other if there are that many to feed,
