Was he trying to be a gentleman? A boy refuses to wrestle a girl in State championship. I was surprised to see this one? But, she obviously didn't want to be treated like a girl so I think he should have entered the ring.

Good on him!

If he win, its because she fight a girl, if he loses, its that he cant win a fight against a girl.
He touch the wrong place, its sexual harrasment, He just can't win if he go ahead.

This way he "wins" even if he lose.

She is upset..
You are male..
Ergo, its your fault..

This was just the first round. Think there were two more after this. There was another girl that qualified for the state match. She lost her round.

I say good on the girls for competing and winning!

I agree geland, this was on the news and some of the students told the reporter (tv) that if the girls want to wrestle, they should form their own group.

This is "progressive" thought taken to the extreme.

Call me an old fashioned type but there should be separation between the sexes in contact sports, if for no other reason than physical attributes are so different.
Deliberately having them compete together is stupid, or do the feminists wish the Olympics to be asexual?

Gonna remove any chance of medals being handed to women in the pure athletics events if that happens......

I agree totally with the comments put forward so far...especially Gelan's. This guy was really in a "no win" situation regardless of the outcome of the event.

I also applaud his chivalry, which I truly believe he displayed.

Cheers, Vince

I was on the westling team in high school and lettered. I recollect that there were a few moves and holds that might be a bit dicy for a boy to use on a girl...Like grabbing the opponent by the crotch and lifting him onto his shoulders to "pin" him...Not to mention a few others.

Well BushM that's what I thought would be the lure to want to wrestle a girlie....I'm confused. You know it would sort of make groping legal. I guess with everyone watching it would ruin the fun. Well actually I bet when boys use that hold they don't really touch the tender areas, it would be tempting I suppose to go farther with a girl. If the girl got curious with the boy, he would probably grimace in pain and that'd make another interesting situation on the wrestling mat. What they really need to do, to make things fair, would be introduce some sort of oil like substance and maybe use a small child's pool on top of the mat. That way those hands would be more liable to miss the questioned spots and if you limited the amount of clothing allowed, to say...the bare minimum, then it would be easier to tell if an inappropriate hold was being used or not.....and you could even take points away or gain points if the wrestling gear had some mishap during the match, which would probably be inevitable. Exciting to think about what might have happened.....oh well, he freaked and she won.

I do not believe there were any winners in that match. There are just some places women shouldn't go. Maybe I should get a job in a woman's garmet shop and assist in helping the customer in the dressing room. Would that work? Suz?

It would have been pretty embarassing for the boy if he happened to get a boner. That may be the concern he had that caused him to forfeit. He did cite religious reasons for refusing to wrestle her. If he got too excited, I'll bet his dad would have beaten the tar out of him when they got home.

Bushy,

I agree with you. This is what's wrong with our society today. This is why boys do not respect girls today.

Vince.........Do you ever check your mail?
