Just came back from Chihuahua Mexico coues hunting. This was a tough hunt. You think that your a good hunter and in good shape , this is your test
try it.They call this the poor mans sheep hunt.
They call this deer the gray ghost well that on the money. How would you like to stalk for 3 hrs and the deer just vanished.Climb up and down time after time. My buddy on the first day got on a ten pointer , which is rare
spoted him and ten hrs later still no deer.
If you are a good long range shooter it can make it a little easyer. On the third day I missed a smokin nontypical , 300 yds over the back by 2" they are much smaller that a normal whitetail .The forth day I shot a 94 3/8 ths
deer at 175 running this figures . I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how again.

Spot and stalk , alot of walking and climbing. Sometimes far shots 4-5 hundred if you are skilled enough.

Blaser,

Sounds like my type of hunting Smile

I'd rather walk then sit in a tree stand. Razz Now to get a gun good enough for it and book a hunt after college. Very Happy

Tell me how does Coue deer taste ?? Confused

Dimitri

I think the tast about the same as a normal white tail.
But it's all in the way you fix the meat.
We had the back straps over open Bar BQ pit in Mexico.
That was grate , also we had Ribs they hung the meat for a day or two.

I would rater chase mule deer then sit for white tail.
